In here i have held up my hands when i've said something stupid. However in RL with people i have to look in the face i'll clam up and duck and cover untill someone else does/says something stupid.

I was explaining the movie Tremors to my grandmother one night when she was babysitting me and I accidentally let slip one word in my explanation which, while subtle, completely altered the intended statement. I said the giant subterranean worms popped up from beneath people and "enveloped them in their testicles" and dragged them down to be eaten.

I would watch that movie.

Wouldn't that make you feel inadequate?

As for me, it depends on the situation. If it was a simple slip of the tongue I'd own up to it. If not, deny, deny, deny.

To me, it depends totally upon whom I said the stupid thing to, why I said it, whether it was intentionally stupid and when I said it.

however... if i say something i later regret when im angry, something i've been doing a lot of as of late... i have to perform a lot of grovelling.
