An offer...

Post by Jeremy M H »

It's obvious I am brand new here, I have read but not participated in any of the discussions here for some time. I am not looking to debate the various sides of this debate I simply come to offer an opportunity to those who are interested.

A simulation is being set up currently that will pit Star Trek, Star Wars and B-5 style races against one another. Now, out of necessity for game play the styles, while very distinct, will be a bit more equal than they are presented in this forum. However anyone who is willing to participate on any side is more than welcome.

This is primarily a text and spreadsheet based endevour but it does make use of a very well put together 3-d space mapping program.

If you are interested drop me a line at

I am not the Game Manager btw, just a player looking for more players. Its a big galaxy, around 5,000 stars with over 35,000 planetary bodies represetend so it should be fun.

You know, you might try placing this in like, the GAMING and Computers forum.

It won't be much of a game because the SW fleet will annihilate the other two fleets unless you either give them some kind of godlike being to play with or totally mangle the capabilities so that they bear no resemblance to the originals.

This is a bit like trying to make a balanced naval strategy game pitting Nelson against Nimitz.

Heh...I can see some of it now...

ST Junkie 1: "Star Wars playarz cheaat in yuor gaame!!!1!11! Evaryone knowes that star Trek sheilds ar immune to SW Laserz!!! *wank wank wank*

Rabid B5'er: "Yuor ships SuXoRz and both of yoou cheat!!!1 Our energy-draining nano-cloud will kill all your shipz!!!!!11!!1 *wank wank wank*

SW Player: "My sector fleet jumps in and proceeds to blast the enemy fleets into oblivion."

Game Master: "Argument rating: Bloody Obvious. Wins on a roll of 1 or more."
*rolls die...1*
"Your argument is a success. Your sector fleet jumps in and blasts the enemy fleets into oblivion. Losses: negligible."

My suggestion would be a group of, say, 4 SDs and 2 Carrack Cruisers trapped in an isolated globular cluster where quite large fleets of both the ST and B5 universe are gathered.
