There's plenty of places online to buy cheap Yugo SKS's and other various ComBloc surplus pistols and rifles with a C&R license. The $30 license cost would be recovered in the cost savings from my first purchase..
If you are thinking of getting a C&R, then subscribe to Shotgun News. It is basically a big firearms classifieds paper with some great articles in it. Pretty cheap, too, considering that you get 3 a month. There are lots of big advertisers in it that sell plenty of old SKSs, Mausers, and Mosin Nagants that are legal with a C&R, and CHEAP too. You could buy an old Yugo SKS for between 100 and 200 dollars, depending on the supplier and the condition of the firearm, and a decent non-German Mauser or Mosin Nagant for less than 100 dollars.

Since guns are by way of beiong illegal over here, I have to stick to the sharper end of things.

I have a katana (and am trained to fight with it), two meat cleavers, and a carving knife.

My dad has a .22 rifle that we share, and a pair of .38 revolvers (one of them is police-issue).

I myself have a couple of baseball bats.

you know what sucks? A wife that doesn't like guns. she doesn't mind me buying them and going shooting, but at the moment she's making me keep my Enfield at a friend's house. For the best i guess considering we have just an apartment right now. I guess i'll have to wait until we get a house before i buy an SKS.

Christ, then why did you marry her then? That sounds almost
like a carbon copy of the relationship between my mom and my
dad who are now divorced and hate each others guts.

Dad: Likes Guns

Mom: Hates guns; get them out of the house!

she's cool, once i buy a gun safe, and i don't feel like spending money on that right now. i'd rather an SKS, even if i must play with it outside the house.

So that's four (five) then?

Heh, anybody else find it ironic that my family owns more than ten times the number of guns that Shep does? :)

There's something called a "felony conviction" which kind of limits your
gun buying abilities. I was buying guns as fast as I got the money for
them before my arrest.

And do I have to sic my Uncle Les on you? His gun safe is literally filled
with all kinds of guns from M-4 look alikes to multiple Glocks.

Lets not forget his trip down to a shooting range in Arkansas with
three Miniguns and 3 M2 .50 Cal HMGs

True.

But still, there is a sense of irony, considering how you're always labeled as the resident crazy gun nut. ;)

My Weapons
All are 440 Stainless steel and can hold an edge

These two I actually got for my girlfriend for Christmas last year, and her birthday 2 months ago.
They are kept at my house as she has no room for them while she's living with her father and siblings. If we break up before she moves out on her own, I get to keep them. If we break up after she has moved out on her own, she takes them with her.
1 Katana, Highlander movie style handle, 440 Stainless steel, two handed, steel scabbard
1 Claymore (Scottish Two Handed Sword, watch the movie 'Braveheart' if you don't know)

1 Double Bladed Black Short Sword 'Ninja' weapon
1 Broad Sword 'Sword of Darkness'
1 Broad Sword 'Sword of Darkness' style 2
1 Sword of the Daywalker, kept sharp
1 Small Battle'eh, approx 24' wide.
1 Full Size Battle'eh, approx 48' wide. I have successfully cleaved 4x4 beams with it

Set; White Python snake imprint
1 Katana, single handed/two-handed
1 Wakashi, single-handed
1 'short sword/dagger' (no idea what the name is)

1 Short Wooden Bookken
2 50lb Draw Pistol Crossbows. Rather cheap, included for the sake of completeness. I need to find drawstrings that will not fray and break after 4 - 5 firings.

On order/Way
15' 'Ramboo' Style survival knife
2 Ninja Throwing Knives with wrist sheaths

Plan to get
Crossbow, 150lb draw+, with laser dot sight and bolts that you can use to go fishing with
A Long Bow/hunting Bow. Problem is, my girlfriend is arguably as a good a bowman as Legolas is in the LoTR movie (in terms of speed and accuracy)
Roman Gladius (Sword)
Bullwhip
Various throwing knives
A copy of the sword 'Callisto' used on the show Xena (I'd like to pick up the actress that played Callisto to, put it ain't happening)
From SwordsOnline.com:
BC-006: Collectors Edition Fantasy Sword (Got Guts?)
A Tai-Chi Sword, probably JS108: Ceremonial Tai Chi Sword
MR9-385: Fantasy Claws (Hey, Hugh Jackman, check this out*)
Probably some Sai's, Throwing Knives, Darts

Riot Gear (full suit, with Shield)

Should have been mine but alas, are not
(after his stroke in 85, they were not stored correctedly and were beyond repair and were destroyed)
My Grandfathers old military service revolvers (2, Korean War)
My grandfathers Bolt action rifle
2 other rifles, unknown type/classification.

Firearms I might get one I own my own house and can turn a room into a room with a lock to avoid accidents
Anything I can get my hands on.
For example
The surplus store at the other end of town has a Deactivated Browning .50 cal I could pick up for $6000.00 (and could get working at full capacity for like $200)

In my personal possession I've got a .22 target rifle and an SKS. However I have full access to my fathers collection which includes over a hundred firearms, mostly rifles. I also have some edged weapons, K-Bar and some much less impressive blades.

how muchs did you pay for the SKS is you don't mind me asking? I've seen Yugoslavian models for as low as $140 and Albanian models with all matched SN's for around $220

I think my dad paid only about 120 USD; it was something of a gift so I'm not exactly sure. The Chinese have unleashed a flood of them on the market, I guess the peoples militia finally upgraded, so you can now find them pretty easily for about 100-120. A thousand rounds of ammo would probably run you around a hundred fifty bucks.

None, besides the usual WMDs that lurk in any single males kitchen sink, laundry basket, bathroom etc.

But I see that some of you...
24' .40-cal Ninja Blowgun.
One 16' Hunting Bowie knife.
A 46' hand and a half blade
11' special forces, wire bound hilt dagger
15' 'Ramboo' Style survival knife
Have some really BIG weapons :)
