Unless she broke into a museum and stole it, who cares? If she really did find it lying on a beach and you need experts in order to determine that it's anything but an interesting rock, that's the salient point.

You might be surprised at what can be discerned from even a very badly decayed piece of worked rock, or metal. Also, countries like Turkey, China, Egypt, India, etc, have had their historical artificats historically plundered by western powers in a very haphazard fashion, and have enacted draconian laws like this to preserve what is left as absolutely as possible. The laws are primarily intended against thievery at archaeology sites, which is a major crime. It's likely that he will be released, or at least not convicted when tried, especially with the diplomatic interference; but the law's value is unquestioned to a nation with a long but now oft-damaged past like Turkey's.

LOL, my uncle lives on a Moshav there, and he finds all these cool archaeological pieces there. He gave me a few white cubes from Mosaics, some pieces of pottery that come from Jug handles, and a flint arrow or two...

I don't see what the problem is. A ten year old can't tell a piece of ancient pottery from a pretty rock, so if it's important, the kid can just give it back. There is no need to punish anyone or go about arresting anyone. Turkey has gone overboard when it goes about arrests people for something that could be fixed by returning it and an apology.
