Goddamn that movie was funny. I can see now where all those great Duke Nukem lines came from.

Wow, I'm surprised there are still cool people left who haven't (or have only recently) seen that movie. Yeah, it rocks and a half.

Groovy.

Holy shit, Rob! You've only NOW seen it?

Did you see the regular an alternate ending? Also have you seen the other two?

But I plan to.

I would have recommended that you see them in order, but truthfully, it doesn't matter that much. They're all good fun no matter which way you slice it.

Well, my sister's friend (Also named Rob) currently had that DVD rented from Blockbuster (and he thinks Evil Dead 2 is a remake of 1).

It is a remake of Evil Dead. But still, you should see them all, to watch the gradual transformation from kooky horror pic to crazy-ass action comedy. But I don't know, I just like Raimi a lot, it might be boring to people who are more normal in their Raimi-liking.

Oh, and Rob, tell Rob that Rob says not to rent from Blockbuster. It's all about Hollywood Video.

I saw Evil Dead II (the 2: Dead by Dawn stuff was just the advertising title) back in high school when I bought the VHS from a friend. Thought it was one of the best things ever.

A few months later I caught Army of Darkness on the Sci-Fi Channel, and thought it was great, if a little too goofy at times.

I bought the EDII DVD last term, and the Book of the Dead edition of The Evil Dead early this previous summer (along with the Boomstick edtion of AoD), which was the first time I had seen it. A little disconcerning, as it's the most violent and serious of the trilogy.

Still, I have to say that EDII is my favourite.

Army of Darkness is great fun but Evil Dead is where the action is. Where else can you see a girl get raped by a tree?

Deadite: "I'll swallow your soul! I'll swallow your soul"
Ash points shotgun at its head
Ash: "Swallow this!"
BOOM!
I'll swallow your soul!

While I love AoD, I think Evil Dead II was the funniest since I'd heard most of the one liners from AoD long before I'd seen the film off mates.

"Good, Bad, I'm the one with the gun." - Ash.

Tis in my favorite movie list. I noticed recentely that there is a video game out based on Army of Darkness.... Not quite sure if I want to check it out, don't want to have it suck and ruin the movie for me.

But AoD features the single greatest one-liner of all time.

"Hey, what's that you got on your face?" As he shovels dirt on Evil Ash's head. Hilarious. :D

I thought the best on liner was;

"Ah, come on baby, that's just what we call pillow talk."

According to TechTV's X-Play, it's very repetitive and while it has some wicked tricks with the chainsaw and boomstick, it gets boring.
