On Stage Suicide

I'm sure I'm aware what most people's opinions will be, but lets' hear them anyway.

Hell On Earth isn't the only group to do such tasteless stage shows.

For example - the band Mayhem is infamous for chucking the dismembered heads of dead animals at the audience, (something which once injured one of their fans) and Ozzy Osbourne IIRC once bit the head off a live bat on stage.

Ozzy says he did it because in the heat of the moment, he thought it was a rubber bat that had been thrown up onto the stage by someone in the crowd (it didn't move when it landed, so it was either stunned or already dead) and wanted to work up the audience more. It was only when he bit down and felt the bones crunching that he suddenly realised it was a real bat. Had to be rushed to the hospital and get rabies shots for precausion.

That happened in Des Moines, Iowa, by the way IIRC... :)

As far as Ozzy goes; the bat was fake, the doves most certainly were real. But that wasn't on stage.

Take it from the Ozzy fan:

The one dove was real - he was off his head and he thought it would be funny. He didn't plan it beforehand. The other dove was happily released into the crowd.

The bat was also real, but he thought it was fake, as it was thrown onto the satge by a fan, and what kind of wierd freak throws a real bat on to a music stage? He was not amused when it strted flapping in his hand and he accidentally bit down. He whines about the shot even now.

It has been making the radio news here, but just in clips. I dont agree with it at all. Staging a suicide is immoral , although I would not be surprised if this is a giant publicity stunt.

If you need to do gross and tasteless things on stage to get attention,it means you have no fucking imagination.

And you`re even stupider if you pay to see it.

I'd say its tasteless, but I'm not sure I'd call it immoral. I certainly support suicide in the case of terminal disease, since that sort of goes part and parcel with being a supporter of cryonics.

It is immoral to use a suicide as a publicity stunt which is what I believe is happening here.

Cryonics is a big, giant, fraud. Do you really think someone is going to go to the trouble of thawing you out years later to cure you of a disease that already killed you? Not to mention the damage done to your body in the freezing process.

You see, when your body is frozen, your cells have a tendency to explode. Water expands when frozen, and, as you most likely know, your cells are mostly water. When that water freezes, the cells can't contain the frozen water.

Find a way to cryogenically freeze someone without exploding their cellular structure, THEN come back to me about cryogenics.

As for being immoral, you think that it isn't immoral for some group to push that someone commit suicide on stage to get more tickets?

Maybe they could replicate whatever is in the bug they found it can freeze when winter comes and defrost after.

It's a frog they found in Asia, IIRC. It has an anti-freeze in it's cells to keep it from actually freezing. This only works around the freezing level of water, too, but cryogenic freezing uses liquid nitrogen, which, if I recall correctly, is about -200 C, quite a bit colder than water ice.

This reminds me of a case a while back in I believe Delaware, a TV newscaster blew his brains out on live TV in the middle of a report. The video is floating around online somewhere.

And I hope the bands bus plunges flaming into a canyon. That i'll get them the attention they want.

I'm near sure that's the guy, my memory on the whole thing is on the hazy side.

I think the guy should do it with a gun, but before he takes his life (if he chooses), he should turn around and shoot all of those sorry sons of bitches who wanted him to kill himself for publicity, then everyone in the audience who payed to see it.
Howedar is no longer here. Need to talk to him? Talk to Pick.

Meh i don't give a crap about the person comitting suicide, but the grinding of live rats ... that's just wrong. Fuck them in their stupid asses, sadist moneygrabbing pseudo-metal whores.

Hopefully he'll be a suicide bomber and take out the band with that instead of lethally injecting himself.
