I never knew DarkStar had a musical career.

Anyway, it's usually the simplest and most annoying songs that get stuck in my head. Hearing something every day doesn't help much either. Usually, being overplayed and being simplistic and annoying go hand in hand.

Scooter is annoying "Hard House" DJ who does basically what you mentioned down bellow. I'd never wished death on a person i'd never met till i heard him.

You... bastard! It's going to take hours of NIN to drown that out.

*edit* the best cure for that song is listening to the Weird Al parody. "Why'd I have to go and get myself decapitated..."
Though these weren't stuck in my head, they were played for three months straight EACH at the movie theater I used to work at.. enough to drive anyone mad, IMO.
You.. I was GOING to write a parody to it.. but decided againt it. The general tune is bad enough.. -listens to Mandalay-

I've been having Liz Phair's "H.W.C." going through my head all day. Good thing I really like it...

There's No Easy Way Out by Robert Tepper was on my mind like balls about a week ago
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

When I was all fried on meds yesterday I couldn't do my math homework at all... But my brain decided to turn into an MP3 player. I had a block of 11 songs from my MP3 playlist looping thru in sequence in my head for several hours.

Finally it got down to just Dropkick Murphy's - "The Fighting 69th", which was #10 in the list that got stuck in my head...

I love meds sometimes... I love how my brain fucks up even more, especially when it does stuff like this...

I somehow ended up with Steve Vai's "Erotic Nightmares" stuck in my head, which means I now know all 5362 notes for the guitar part. I feel so special.

I can play Metallica's entire "Master of Puppets" album in my head, and there's about 10 CD's I own where I can play almost the entire album in my head. It's pretty handy when I can zone out in a mindlessly boring lecture and just listen to all the tunes playing in my head.

Holy shit man, I've just barely got Battery, Master of Puppets, Orion, and Welcome Home(Sanitarium) in there! OTOH, I have quite a bit of Linkin Park, Roxette, Duran Duran, and Darude for some whack reason...

Sometimes that's the only way to deal with songs like that... I would find myself at animal control hearing the same Hillbilly song for the 1,249th time that day (I used to go home with "Old red" or "Long Time Gone" stuck in my head,) and making up some (usually obscene) lyrics to go along with it.

Yep... And now I got Hash Pipe by Weezer glued to my brains. I've been trying to find the title and artist of that song since I heard it in 7th grade...

For me it's a constant especially at work.

Strangely when I am in a very foul mood or Drunk it's always either "Anarky in the UK" or Sea/folk tunes with very bawdy lyrics...

Because you know you love it... :P

Shiny happy people laughing
Meet me in the crowd
People people
Throw your love around
Love me love me
Take it into town
Happy happy
Put it in the ground
Where the flowers grow
Gold and silver shine

Shiny happy people holding hands
Shiny happy people holding hands
Shiny happy people laughing

Everyone around love them, love them
Put it in your hands
Take it take it
There's no time to cry
Happy happy
Put it in your heart
Where tomorrow shines
Gold and silver shine

Shiny happy people holding hands
Shiny happy people holding hands
Shiny happy people laughing
Shiny happy people holding hands
Shiny happy people holding hands
Shiny happy people laughing

Limelight has been replaced by Doctor Doctor by UFO. Its one of my favourite songs so it runs through my head on a regular monthly basis but since i picked up Iron Maiden's B-Sides album i've been playing their cover of it nonstop for the past 48 hours. Its a great song but i just cant stop singing it.

"Doctor, doctor pleeeeeaase...ohhohh the mess I'm in!"

brilliant song.

And Shiny Happy People isnt that bad a song. It has a certain cheesy easy-listening-hippie-rock charm to it. Every time i hear that song i flashback to "come on people now, smile im your brother...". Losing My Religion is a much better track of that record.
I'll swallow your soul!
