I'm a roaringly happy Irishman off in La-la Land, floating through the air. And I can think rationally when I'm drunk too. I just can't control what I say.

The few people who've seen me drunk know that I'm a laugh and a half to be around when I'm tanked.

Get on some psych meds, if you have a high tolerance, like I do.

You'll get drunk *real* fast.

(I only had two glasses of sauvignon!!!)

Usually happy, somewhat giggly, fully in control though, outside of motor skills of course.

I can also do math much better. (that is just messed up, but it is true, I got the only A on a math test ever when I showed up just 3 hours after drinking myself shitfaced. The teacher told me that she would report me if I did it again, she didn't care about the fact I aced the damn test! lol)

Btw, how do you know you've had too much?

When you keep having to fish the damned dice out of the shotglasses, the Tablero board is dripping, you are dripping, you are on your 4th cigarette in ~10 minutes, and you can't find the mead that's in the cupholder of your seat and under your arm.

The best ways to know you're way past drunk:

the earth keeps trying to run away from you and to stay on the surface you have to hold the grass.

You start asking your friends when they put you in a boat. (even worse if if they are bards and respond in drunken song, followed by puking sounds and someone asking something regarding a boat or part of a boat)

Damn I love SCA events...

Fucked up as it sounds, the drunkest I got was July 4th of this year (just before an SCA event, where I didn't get drunk -enough-) where I took 8 shots of tequila in ~45 minutes...

I'm a moody drunk and the moods shift without warning: I can go from happy and laughing to depressed and withdrawn to angry and violent, all in under a minute. It's nowhere near as extreme when I'm just buzzed, so I just limit myself to a shot or two.

Let's just say I'm a very, very happy drunk. I get super talkative, my face turns red and I start speaking Spanish fluently (no I'm not kidding, although I tend to make up a few words). Problem is I get shitfaced almost right away so I only get tanked maybe three or four times a year.

I much prefer *ahem* alternative forms of getting intoxicated since it leaves me with far less after effects.

Haha! That sounds like me my first semester away at college. The other guys in my quad finally talked me into having a beer one weekend while they were all drinking... I think they did it just because they were afraid I'd go rat them out. One Budweiser cured me of the urge to drink for a long, long time (at least until I discovered mixed drinks, and realized alcohol doesn't have to taste like chilled piss.)

My fiancee's brother made this mixed Vodka drink that included chocolate syrup on the inside of the shot glass a few weeks ago. I took a TINY sip, and I almost saw Aztec temples. My fiancee drank a whole shot glass, though!

thats because you are drinking shit beer. Try Bass, or Newcastle or Samuel Adams. a good hearty lager or ale will cure the bad beer blues!

IME, ale is *worse* than beer... And I *have* at least tried about 7 different beers. Granted, 5 of them weren't good beers, but still..

Can't stand the taste of alcohol, personally. I try a sip every once in a great while, which tends to only reinforce my dislike of the taste.

But then I grew up in a hospital, so perhaps I'm just biased by the fact that the first alcohol I was introduced to was rubbing alcohol.

I do have a funny story though: I was taking an acting third, and in my Scene Study class, my instructor told me to act drunk. I told him this may be a problem, since I had never been drunk in my entire life. The entire class (almost all freshmen, except for me, I was a sophomore at the time) and the instructor looked at me like I had grown a third head.

Apparently I fake being drunk pretty well though....
