Mostly thanks to the CITY, but we won't get into that. Outside the CITY it's a nice place but the CITY runs the STATE.

Never fired a real gun. Pretty good shot with pellet and BB guns though.

My FIANCEE has offered to take me to a shooting range since she's shot guns before!

Do we even want to go INTO what she's fired before....

Somethings on base ranges down in Texas....

Oh and she can "man" any position in a tank too.

Oh, I probably should have clarified earlier that things like BB guns, air rifles, pellet guns, paintball guns, Airsoft guns or blank-firing guns/starter pistols, etc don't count as guns for the purpose of this survey; and that only "real guns" qualify.

Spanky The Dolphin wrote:I've had this thread idea kicking around in my head for a while now, and decided to post it before I got back to my homework.

So basically, have you ever fired a gun? If you answer yes, listing the basic types (ex: revolver, semi-auto handgun, rifle, muzzel-loader, shotgun, SMG, etc...), is optional. (Please note that I'm not an expert on gun type classification.)

Additionally, if the country of your current residence has a ban on civilian gun ownership, please indicate such.

Note that this thread is not intended as the setting for any sort of gun control/ownership debate or discussion, just a survey and related discussion.

I'll go first.

Yes. Revolver, semi-auto handgun, pump shotgun, bolt-action rifle, and whatever a Mauser 98 rifle is (drawing a blank on the class).
I will over the next few months. m16a2.

Yes. I haven't fired any muzzle loaders yet, but apart from those I've fired pretty much all types of firearms.

Not really, I have handled various guns but not fired them.

I am however looking for a gun club nearby, I hear there's a good one with student discount.

I have a mate at work who had many guns prior to the crackdown on firearms in the late '90s. Namely he had a .44 long barrel Magnum, .357 Colt Python, Spas-12 pump action 12 gauge, 2 double barrel shotguns in side-by-side and one-over-another configuration, a folding stock SLR, a Colt 1911 and a flintlock of some description.

Rifles (M-16A2, AR-15, M-14, M1 Garand, M1A, M1 Carbine, AK-47, Mauser 98k, Mauser 96, Springfield '03A1, Winchester Model 70 Pre-'64 etc. Don't necessarily own all, but I have shot them at some point.)
Shotguns (Remington 1100 and 870, Benelli Nova, Ruger Red Label, Beretta O/Us)
MGs (M-249, M-60)
Pistols (1911A1, Walther P90, Glock 22, Ruger Vaquero, Colt Single Action Cowboy, etc.)

I can't remember all of the weapons I have fired, but those are just some of the highlights.

Certain types are illegal, I know numerous farmers near my home who have rifles and shotguns.

Plus there are still gun clubs.

I fired a gun in a rally once. It was a standard issue police automatic pistol, but I don't know exactly the caliber.

EDIT: I remember it had 10 shots, tho.

Yes, pistols and small rifles. (.22 handgun, .22 rifle, 9mm, 45 mag., .454 casul).

As an aside, when I was in junior high, we had a mandatory fire arms safety class. There was an optional weekend practice session with real guns, and anyone who took that option got a state firearms safety permit.

Fired a 9mm(?) Berreta semi automatic pistol once. That was thanks to a contact I have who was teaching firearms safety courses at the time. It was pretty fun, but goddamn that friggin' gun was heavy!

Various hand modern handguns, .177 (pellet gun) .22 (revolver & semi-auto), .38/.357 (Ruger Blackhawk) & 9mm (semi-auto).

I've fired my dad's "pirate gun". It's a muzzle loader pistol that I think is 40 something caliber. It's not very accurate but it makes big holes.

I've also fired a smaller caliber muzzle loader "squirrel rifle" and a .50 caliber Hawken muzzle loader. All of the blackpowder muzzle loaders I've shot were precusion cap, no flintlocks. The smaller riffle strikes on the side instead of on top like most guns.

Bolt and pump action 12 gauge shotguns.

As for long guns I've shot .177 pellet riffle, 22LR (bolt action & semi-auto), Chinese SKS (semi-auto), lever action 30-30, lever action .38/357, Bolt action single-shot 30.06, M-1 Garande (also 30.06).

And I also shot this. Fun Time Navy :D
