A-level Drama student here.... not many tales as im relatively new...

but being in a class of girls means 2 things. I'm always cast as either a gay guy. or a seriously fucked up loser of a guy.

I think they hate me

Hah, that's virtually the opposite of what happened with me. My first scene study assignment led to my female partner and I doing a scene from "Lend me a Tenor". We picked one of the tamer scenes, and at the request of the instructor...altered it slightly. By the time we were done, it wasn't so tame, and involved me doing an over the top Sean Connory bit...with interesting results.

It's a good thing I took precautions. Having an attractive girl sit on one's lap in front of an audience can lead to some...interesting results if one isn't careful.

well, the only thing remotely rese,bling that kind of story is the time i had to pretend i wasinlove with a girl who i absolutely despise.

she isn't ugly by any stretch of the word... just a horrible person.

i basically had to completely become my character and forget the fact that i hated her, was quite possibly the hardest scene i have ever had to act

quite a funny thing happened today, a girl in my class was playing around with her folder and managed to clip her finger she went really over the top with it.

our teacher said just 1 thing

"spot the drama student"

another girll also made him crack up when she innocently asked "what do you have to squeeze to make the juice come out?"

course, she was asking about the vcr head cleaner

I've been taking theatre acting courses for at least a year - currently on my second year. It's not above community-theater level, but I still enjoy it.

There's few things funnier than getting to portray a villain with a cool catchphrase, like I did in an improvised short play half a week ago.

During the school musical, I played a regular guy who shows up for no reason in the middle of a song, and a soldier that gets to smack around the principle character.

I had fun.

in our performance we are making about pedofilia (fuck, i can't spell it anymore)

we are using nursery rhymes, cept changing words. I.E

Humpty dumpty sat on a wall, humpty dumpty had a great fall, all the kings horses and all the kings men, couldn't put her back together again.

Did I mention that me and two other kids were entirely responsible for creating and putting up a set for our school's one-act play? And we did a damn good job of it, too.

Nope, with our HS, it was pretty much up to the students and MAYBE a couple teachers and janitors to set things up.

Gave up on being an actor when I realised that making commercials is the only way an unknown can possibly eke out anything resembling a living.

That, and what the Screen Actors Guild membership entails, you have to be a member to work, you can only be a member if you have worked, a practically insoluble catch-22.
