the story just broke a short while ago, Roy was attacked by a tiger during his stage show. Holy Shit!

You act as though this was not inevitable. While idiots such as Axis Kast might dispute this, I thought it was common knowledge that tigers are naturally dangerous, predatorial animals. Even a lifetime of training is no guarantee. Siegfried and Roy chose an extremely dangerous line of work.

Well its not that I thought it was inevitable, but for it to happen on stage is surely interesting. I always thought the animals were doped up in some way also, for it to happen now after years of work, no matter ho winevitable i still, well surprising to me.

Especially when most of their tigers are inbred and goofy to begin with.

What do you think they train them with? They trigger the animals hunting instinct to train them...

They article does say that this was the tigers debut performance. It probably got spooked by the audiance and attacked.

Still, it was only a matter of time before something like this happened.

Latest news is that he is out of surgery and in critical condition.

I blame the US military for bombing Las Vegas so much. All that stress just can't be good for a tiger.

But seriously, that sucks. I hope Roy pulls through; I always liked those guys. They're crazy as fuck, they're not above making fun of themselves, and from what I can tell, they're nice people. And even if Roy was the devil, nobody deserves to be attacked by a tiger.

Though the last paragraph of the artilce is a little frightening that people thought it was a part of the act for a bit.

Idiot. Do you juggle with fire and complain when you get burnt? Same principle, a tiger or any big cat is a fucking killing machine meant to be out in the wild. If it gets hungry you better count on those vets being good shots.

After years of training the first performance shows, if the tiger-training has be successfull or not. In this case, it was not, with serious consequences. I hope that Roy will survive and get better soon.

I wonder what now will happen with the tiger?

It may be put down, but it was a trained performer so that might be too extreme, I hope it isn't put down given the situation it found itself in anyway.

A tiger attacking a human being. Imagine that. And the tiger in question wasn't suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as a result of being in a zoo cage in the middle of an active war zone. Most curious.

Another strawman.

My argument is that the effect of an attack on humans by any animal is made worse when that animal is under significant levels of stress. That argument is bourne out by officials at Yellowstone National Park, whose staff regularly factor stress into the question of whether or not an aggressive animal should be put down.
