Doctors tell me to be a vampire

Post by haas mark »

OK.. so I've now been told that I should stay out of the sun. Shwee. My Naproxen says to avoid long exposure to the sun, and my optometrist said that I should be careful about being int he sun because of my eyes, or else I HAVE TO get sunglasses. So basically, I've been told I should be a vampire.

Anyone else have doctors tell you to do something that already fits in with some of your everday quirks?

Same thing for my brother. He's got really bad acne now, has had the stuff for a couple of years and he's 17. Been on all sorts like tetracycline, but recently he had a blood test to determine if he was eligible to use a newer and more powerful antibiotic called Roaccutane. Other than mood swings and redness of the skin, it is advised that the patient stay out of direct sunlight where possible. Luckily summer is over now, back to bleak ol' stereotypical England.

You're not a vampire for staying out of the sun...

...you're just a geek. :P

Let's seee...

fangs...
blood fetish...
definitely more of a top...

I could think of other determining factors, but I'm a bit burnt right now..

[EDIT] I also dislike garlic on almost everything it gets put on to. ;) Not that that's anything real, or anything..
I do, in fact, hiss at crosses and churches. And the sun.

Haha whatever. Course, I'm not saying that I'm *not* a geek, mind you.. ;) But the doctors are telling me to be a vampire.. I'm basically not supposed to be out in the sun, period, hehe, or at least not very much.

Ugh, not that bullshit...

People in general should avoid getting too much sun. Just remember the following mantra: "Inside good, outside bad." :)

It's not so cut and dry now, scientists are arguing over the recent studies showing sunlight is nowhere near as harmful as many dermatologists point out. It is actually more beneficial.

There is also another recent report on how suncreams today are not protecting people who do want to get a tan since the UVB factor is the most commonly looked at label and not the UVA factor which is measured in stars and not SPF number.

But inside is cooler typically. :D

Year and a half? I've been doing it for nearly ten... :)

Yeah, inside is cooler. It's also where all my stuff is.

It's called having parents that don't let you do anything inside, unless it's chores..

Hehe, outside of basically having to stay inside, that rocks.

My dislike of garlic, some of the stuff I did years ago, the hours I keep, and my dislike of natural light have given rise to a large number of vampire jokes from my friends and family. I find it quite amusing.

Bloodlust is a major factor, especially considering the jokes that I get from my unusually sharp canines. ;)

About the only good things with night is that it's a good time to have sex & sleep and the electricity is "cleaner" due to lower demand so my audio equipment sounds better. Being inside sucks too, if the weather's bad and I get stuck inside the house for more than a couple days I start getting edgy & easily annoyed. Daylight is good, outside is good, but that's me.

I used to be on tetracycline, and that made me more vulnerable to sunburn which was quite annoying. I usually wear sunglasses outside for UV protection.
