If you could go back...
and redo one thing in your life, what would it be and why would you do it?

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.
Probably not get so upset at Rob two months ago.
*shrug* not that I'm still crying or anything, but it was nice to have sex on a regular basis.

I could go and say that I wished I never got married the first time.
However... that would derail an entire train of events, some bad, some good, that leads me to where I am, engaged to SirNitram, and very happy.

Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.

If I could go back, with all the knowledge I have today...
I'd buy the correct lotto ticket last night, of course!

I've made some errors, certainly, but I have no regrets.

Aside from winning the lotto.....
I'd go back to kindergarden and not have a very public crush on the girl who sat behind me and save myself the eventual public humiliation. This single event when I was 5 years old has really made me a social recluse. Public humiliation is one of my greatest fears and it keeps me from doing a lot of stuff and it's all because of something I did when I was 5 years old... ops"

I'd redo my 9th grade year. The year before, I was getting decent grades and had some friends, but that went down the shitter the year after. I could have fixed that by taking honors English instead of academic, because there were so many dickheads in the class. Then, I wouldn't be so open about me feelings toward others. This probably eliminated my chance of ever dating a girl. Then, I'd find new friends, because my "friends" then were just a bunch of backstabbing pricks. Finally, I'd actually study.

Going back and winning the lotto seems to be one o the most popular options. However, I'd also like to get to re-race ross country counties in 2002. I sucked really bad, and personally cost the win.

Probably have a better time at university last year by going to the Tae Kwon Do socials straight away instead of in the third term, hence finding the people who were actually fun to be with a hell of a lot earlier and spending less time alone in my room. Ah well.

I'd like to go back in time and slap the face of my self. As a child i was a cocky arrogant self-centred prick who acted with out thinkign and who caused his own family a lot of pain. It wasn't untill i got engaged that i became somethign resembeling a civilised human being. If i had early warning that my antics would case my dad to nearly die i'd maybe i'd have truend out better.
I'd also advise myself to do the Networking MCP, Programing was a mistake.

I've got basically no regrets. Possibly I would have joined the high school or church choir, because I have a great singing voice that went to waste because I never developed it. It would have been a nice talent to have.

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Buy a shitload of Microsoft shares early on and dump all of them today (hopefully making me rich and badly damaging the company).
Um...I'd have started on my Trill-type spot tattoos earlier (before DS9 came out).
I'd like to say I wouldn't have joined the Navy and thereby fucked up my health, but I met some people in the Navy I'd die for, so it was a fair trade.
I'd have started exercising sooner just to get used to it.
I'd have taken art every single year of high school.
And that one time Michelle's parents were being really cruel to him, I wouldn't have let my mom take me home. I'd have followed my gut and protected him if it meant killing them (he has some really bad physical and emotional scars that I think might not be there today if we'd stayed). And I would have made my mom take him and his brother in sooner.
I'd have asked my mom more about her life before I was born. It's hard learning about her from her siblings now that she's gone.

Oh shit. Literally. This reminds me of another regret. When I was at that brunch (about age 14) I wouldn't have tried that "apple pie" that turned out to be fish liver quiche with extra skin. It was the single most disgusting thing I've ever experienced. Worse than low-crawling through goose excrement with cuts from having just done the Marine Corps Daily Dozen on concrete. Worse by far than boot camp. Worse than cleaning the female staff head at building 1405 on RTC Great Lakes, and having to scrub caked makeup from the counter and chip an inch-thick hardened lump of formerly liquid soap from the floor beneath the dispenser (needed a putty knife for that).Wicked Pilot wrote:I wouldn't have eaten that moldy bagel yesterday. That thing cleared me out good.
I puked so hard when I tasted that shit...there were scales and bones, I swear...it was horrid. I actually drank Listerine that day and cursed out one of my mom's friends. My mom was on the floor laughing.

Taken some music lessons when I was a kid. By the time I got middle school and started learning to play the violin in music class, I was well behind the learning curve since I no musical background at all. I think that having the background would help me understand and enjoy music a lot more.
Other than that, know the winning lottery numbers (damn, it was $25 million last week!) and start going out with my GF a bit earlier.

Not tell a certain person (NOT the Mister M) that I was even remotely interested in him. I don't like the idea of him going out of his way to treat me like a fuckbuddy. I don't want that, ESPECIALLY while I've a potential boyfriend.
[EDIT] Note I don't regret this.. I just don't like that I did it. There's only one thing that I regret, but I despise this a lot more.

Go back in time to 1960 with the scripts for all the good SW and Trek movies and shows, the Matrix trilogy, American Beauty, What Dreams May Come, the M. Night Shyamalan movies, Grand Canyon, Kill Bill, and La Cage Aux Folles. Take all the special effects tech from today and remake them. I'd be a cinema goddess in no time. Assuming I killed Roddenberry and Lucas first.Lord Pounder wrote:Maybe go back in time with a copy of the script of a majorly popular movie/book ect and make it my own.
Can you imagine the thrill of watching 1960 moviegoers have coronaries at the sight of Neo or the Hulk doing their thing with today's effects? People would think it was the end of the world, that I was the devil or something. The pretty little warlock husband wouldn't help either...
Scratch La Cage Aux Folles. The original is just too damned funny and I couldn't outdo it.
