Wait, does he even have to raise shields? Or are we assuming that he has them off cause he's a idiot?

Hell, he doesn't even have to do a damn thing, one trigger happy gunner could end this in seconds.

Suppose he ordered his men to lower their shields and power down their weapons. This is not Star Trek; this is the Empire. His XO would have him relieved of command, and he would probably be executed for attempting to aid the enemy.

All he has to do in order to win is simply order his men to raise shields and open fire. This isn't exactly brain surgery; his men will take care of the rest.

Forget the weapons. All they have to do is accelerate.

Thank you...I mean the Captain doesn't have to even get out of the cushy chair with the two babes massaging him...he just has to hear from his gunnery commander they took care of some annoyance.

Even If the ISD captain ordered the ship to flee, the ion wash from the engines going to flank would still likely kill the GCS's.

Yes I forgot! The Ion washs is enough to take down a fellow ISDs front shields in about five minutes!(X-Wing Allance

To move a ship of that size with that sort of accelleration, you do have to put out a lot of thrust.

And in Dark Force Rising, Luke, Talon Karrde, and Mara Jade skim the Falcon along the exhaust to prevent fighters from attacking them along the bottom side.
