I made sure I checked too. I almost punched yes on one of the propositions. Mainly cause my fingers are not so nimble but I caught myself.

The guy next to me screwed up and punched the wrong thing, they just gave him a fresh ballot.

Now I have never voted in America (duh), but are the stories of horrendus ballot papers as true as they sound? I heard that there was a 'butterfly' desing and a 'catapillar' design also, where people got confused with what name corresponded to what dot ...

I don't know about those designs you're talking about. But yes, those damned punch cards NEVER line up correctly on tabs. There's no reason NOT to have the touch screens.

The news was saying that Jesse Jackson is rumbling something about disfranchised voters in minority districts.

Im not sure what a minority district is in California considering the staggering diversity here. It think he means black or mexican and poor. God forbid, he would look into voting patterns in wealthy district with 25% Asians.

Basically, it was the same way with Davis and Bustamonte. The two had only spoken ONCE in the entire time that they had served in their positions, together.

Frankly, I'm not real clear as to what Bustamonte's qualifications were. If in the entire time he served as Lt. Governor he's only even SPOKEN with the Governor once then this represents a SPECTACULAR deriliction of duties.
