Animal rights campaigner killed by Bear

Post by Glocksman »

BBC Story
The founder of an animal welfare group which campaigns for the protection of grizzly bears, has been killed by a bear during a camping trip in Alaska.
The bodies of Timothy Treadwell, 46, and his camping companion Amie Huguenard, 37, were found in the Katmai National Park.

Mr Treadwell's website said he had lived peacefully with Alaskan grizzlies since the late 1980s "without weapons".

Park rangers later killed two aggressive bears they discovered at the campsite and closed the park.
Ironically, his website does give the advice to stay at least 100 yards from bears at all times and talks about the extreme danger that grizzlies can pose to humans.

I guess he should have packed a weapon after all.
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."- General Sir Charles Napier

Well, we saw what those stupid idiots did to the UK in the documentary, 28 Days. This is just another nail in the coffin.

Of course, we're forgetting something. How stressed were the bears?

Ironic. Won't exerise his right to bear arms; ends up getting killed by bear arms.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

*ouch, ouch the PAIN*

Really though all things considered, shouldn't laugh. This is a waste of a life. Contributed to his own demise, but he was engaged in a worthy cause (judging from that snippet that is, I don't know if he was some crazy ALFer or something)
