And a bullet proof shield for our friend. :P

I believe the mental trauma of knowing you'd just loaded that gun and, had it gone tits up, led to killing a man would have been bad enough.

It's official: We're cold hearted bastards. We were taking bets on it.

Talking of balls of steel, that might have been a better way of doing it. instead of pointing it at his head, he points it at his balls. That way if he loses he'll probably live but will be in great pain and it would be funnier than if he blew his brains out.

Admittedly, he did pick the most "sheep" like of the contestants to load the gun....

Derren Brown so rocks. He did have balls of steel, but it was all about confidence in his abilities.

Although i would've much preferred to watch him play russian roulette with david blaine.

Having 5 chambers loaded and not the one may put him off.

I watched this, and to be honest, it bored the fuck out of me.

I thought he was going to guess the chamber without the guy reciting numbers, and I didn't think he was allowed to shoot a sandbag if he thought there was a bullet.

Call me sick, but I was half hoping for him to fuck up.

Anybody think any less of him now it's emerged he was using a blank?

It still worked, after all.

A traelling minister used to do that as part of his act, a point blank shot to the head killed him even though he used blanks as well.

he was trying to prove his Faith that god wouldnt let him die, the delicious irony doesnt escape me. i think he also won a Darwin award for his efforts.

Didn't they have a bit in the show showing that a point blank blank ( ) would still kill him? He was probably using it for safety, ie. if for some reason he misses his head it wouldn't be as likely to kill someone.

Wasn't Brandon Lee killed on the set of a movie from a blank round?

I recall it being some kind of mix up as opposed to blanks that killed him,

here, try this:

The masses will likely think less of him, but as shown on the show, a blank shot can and will pop heads if a point blank.

I'd like to see the masses being shot at even with blanks then we'd see who had balls.
