Dems postcript on Cal election

Post by theski »

POSTSCRIPT: Incidentally, I've learned my lesson. Never underestimate the stupidity of the American voter. Just when you think they can't be bigger fucking idiots, they prove you wrong. That's not meant to be cynical. It's just a recognition of reality. 80% of the folks who voted for Arnold were fucking idiots. And, that amounts to around 3 million people in the State of California alone.

Sometimes smart people assume that everyone else is as smart, informed and observant as they are. Thus, they get mystified by the behavior of the general public. Well...this election should disabuse you of that failing.

Even the Republicans who voted for Arnold know he's a clusterfuck waiting to happen. They just did so for strategic advantage.

So...let this be a lesson to you. Stupid sells. Hence the miraculous relative popularity of Dubyah, despite all of his adminstration's screw ups and deliberate screw jobs. By rights Bush should have favorability and approval ratings that make Gray Davis look like Mr, Popularity. Yet...he doesn't.

So, we have to keep hammering him...every day. Until the message finally pentrates the thick skulls of all the dumbfucks out there in voterland.

Sorry to be harsh...but that's the only way.

Good to see the Dems faith in the voters

And the fact that Arnold promptly surrounded himself with the same Sacramento idiots he was just railing against means nothing now?

They *can* be extremely stupid. We're talking about a population, 70% of whom believed Saddam Hussein blew up the World Trade Centre, with not a shred of evidence. You're honestly telling me that's not stupid?

And they wonder why the people were so pissed off at them (Dems). My god, here's a hint. Fucking idea's. Put forth some fucking idea's instead of blatent politicing and smear campaigns.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Because Gray Davis and Cruz Bustamante were much better choices, right? Even if Arnold is a complete hack and his administration is a total clusterfuck, he won't do any worse than his opponents.

Here's a hint, folks: before you rant and rave about how stupid the voters are, run a candidate who's worth voting for.

This is nothing new. The Democratic and liberal elite have been saying that the average voter is too stupid to 'get' their message for many many years.

ahhh yes. the wonderous logic of insulting the voter in order to win his/her vote. Speaking of stupidity On a side note i remember early on in the recall Bustamante compared himself and Arnold to the charectors in the movie Twins. He saw himself as Danny DeVito....whcih i felt was so incredibly moronic. Yeah, concide that your opponent has all of the brains, brawn and charisma and in the same breath compare yorself to a fat, obnoxious uneducated car thief.  not the brightest bulb on the christmas tree, is he?

You know, just because the majority are stupid, you really shouldn't say it. Yelling how stupid they are will piss them off. At least try to make them less stupid, my god..
