Punk will never die, however it will leave the mainstream and become good once again.

DAMN YOU GREEN DAY

though they did have a coupla decent songs but they should never have tried to pass themselves off as punk when performing them

Wow, theres hope for punk rock yet! Things like this havent been common since the early 80's...glad to see punk is getting back to its roots  . Though to be honest i havent heard the bands that the concert was for. I cant see fans of Good Charlotte doing this though...probably because most of them are teeny bopper girls...

Dude! The Punk On The Bus from STIV is the fucking archetypal and quintessential punk rocker of all time! He's actually one of the producers of the movie IIRC. The music he is playing is his real band. I think i used to have a bootleg of their stuff. Its great Hardcore punk from the early 80's!

I had a dream about this. The riot started, and the area was flooded with "police". A few minutes later, everything looked like this:

I find punk frightening, the prospect that this music can make CANADIANS riot is just...ugh
*shudder*

The music industry is annoying in general, they make money by selling to the most people. Including people who think they are oppressed by industry.
Annoying as fuck.

Thats what made punk great. People were fucking afraid of it! Thats really been lost in the past ten years, what with Blink 182 and Good Charlotte. As sad as it is to see a bunch of morons causing property damage its just cool to see people putting the "punk" back in "punk rock".

In a related story, some teenage girls put paperclips in their ears when a Good Charlotte concert was cancelled.

Punk, True Punk, was dead or on life support by the time that flick came out.
And just because Johnny spikes his mohawk doesn't mean he wouldn't get his ankles stomped in a pit.

That's to some extent also what makes metal great.

The only downside to this is the fact that certain bands are more known for their criminal records than their actual music.

All planned beforehand nowadays. "Ok, you over there, break that lamp, you throw a chair through the window, and you beat up the desk clerk, I've already got the cover of Rolling Stone booked, and we get USA Today if you moon the police."
