Well, I found the web page for the church where my father was a pastor when I was growing up. He used to make me attend and pretty much beat me if I didn't want to. There was a woman there who was a big time bitch and would often yell at me (when I was 12, mind you) and find reasons to get me into trouble. She was also 40 something, single and a repressed homosexual (it was pretty obvious).

So, I left the church a nasty email and called her a dyke and whatnot. HA HA! Take that!

Spank, when a child is abused it can hardly be called an "inconvenience" or "boredom." I used to literally get the shit beaten out of me. I wasn't too happy about being told how to believe and think either. The things I could tell you...

Anyway, those issues aside, I do see your point. I'm not saying your wrong, just that a little katharsis feels good sometimes.

I hate to sound like a me-tooer now that Mike has defended you, but I understand your position, Superman. My dad was adopted and raised by strict Church of Christ fundamentalists, beaten to within an inch of his life on a regular basis, only had one birthday party his entire childhood (only because his Aunt had a kind heart), and when he came back from his service in the Marines, his "parents" refused to accept the charges for a collect call he placed to them. Needless to say, he holds quite a grudge against the Church of Christ.
