Mozilla Problem

Post by Einhander Sn0m4n »

Why is Mozilla constantly asking for a master password? I have the 'Ask for Master Password' set to 'first time it is needed', but it keeps pestering me for it...

EDIT: Something about a 'Software Security Device'. wtf?

If you upgraded Mozilla, did you delete your application directory first?

Also, I've been hearing rumours of a password list format change, I'll dig around and see if it relates to this.

I didn't upgrade yet, I just fixed my email back to Thunderbird a week after a BSOD killed Mozilla's settings (think 'stomped em _flat_'), and only now after that am I getting these things. Help?

I think I may have licked it. I saw this Google Groups Thread and decided to untick 'check for new emails every X minutes' to see if that clears the trouble. Here's hoping I was able to kludge around it. :)

EDIT: Damn it didn't work! Maybe it will after I restart Mozzy...

EDIT2: Well I restarted Mozzy. After I took unfair advantage of that contingency to upgrade to Moz 1.5. :)

EDIT3: What would the default Master Password be if you never bothered to set one?

EDIT4: It appears to be fixed for good now. Viva Mozilla!!
