I've been there a few times, does that count?

My advice is to steer clear of Lieutenant Jim Dangle and his deputies, unless you want a lot of craziness to happen to you.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Tis a nice town, been there a couple times but I don't live there. Sorry. Take a detour through SLC and I'll meet up with ya. :P
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Are you moving? Did I miss something?

Reno is a gambling/tourist town. That means it might be a bit boring. But it has never come across to me as a terrible place to live. You are gonna be really close to skiing!

Two months isnt that long of a time. Do you like to check out historicall stuff? There are lots of old mining touristy stuff in that area. Being under 21 kinda sucks there cause you cant even walk through the casino, but at least Circus Circus has an arcade.

I wouldnt mind living in Reno for two months as long as Im not in a bad neighborhood. Reno is a bit dry for me, but Tahoe is only 45 minutes away.

Ver. Get a good game. a MMORPG. Play it. Live it. The time will pass quickly and you will make many friends. Hell, you'll be surrounded by computers, anyway! And, being under 21 your options as to social stuff is limited anyway. of course, this is all personal opinion, and it is easy for me to live with little or no social contact. Plus, no matter where you go, you still have SD.Net. We're your friends! And you'll still have your art, you could work on your technique, get into 3d modeling, any number of things! See, your life doesn't have to be very very social. If you don't feel comfortable going out and making new friends (Which you may or may not ever see again after your 2 months there) by all means stay in! Make your own way.
I know all too well how you feel, at age 18 (Maybe I was 19...) I joined the army and left home for the first time (2000+ miles away, no less) and found myself truly alone. It sucks, but you get numb to it after awhile. the above paragraph are just some techniques i've used being raised an Army Brat and the joining myself

There is a lot of pretty terrain surrounding Reno and the Sierra Nevada are very close by, you can see them from the city. Plenty of things to take pictures of. Im assuming the trip is coming up soon? At least it is not the hottest part of the year.

Almost all my trips to Reno have been in the winter. A few days of skiing in Tahoe then down to Reno for a few days of gambling.
