A friend and I went to see the re-mastered Exorcist in the theater when it was released three years ago.

Needless to say, we were the only ones in the theater giggling maniacally.

So you were that bastard who laughed at Linda Blaire's revolving head when i saw it in 2000!

Seriously Exorcist is still pretty damn creepy. It only works when you see it under certain circumstances though, like any good scary movie.

I have always maintained that Alien is the most suspenceful movie i have seen. I'm not sure what to say really....i havent been really scared by a film since i was a kid. Which sucks because i love to be scared! The Ring and What Lies Beneath are the most recent films to make me think twice about turning the lights off when i go to bed, if you can believe that. I think it was just the state of mind i was in...that can totally affect the viewing of the film.

I never have and never will watch it. It's not because i scare easily, i do, and it's not because i hate horror movies in general. It's because my mother went the see the original Exorcist when it came out and it caused her to miscarry a child. My mother has been deeply religous since, though shes not a church goer.

Alien wasn't scary at all to me. It appeals to me in the "Aliens raping the crew of an advanced star cruiser" kind of way. Now, if they re-released Aliens, I'd be so there, I've always wanted to see it on the big screen. For some reason, pulse rifles and Hudson screaming "What are we gonna do?! We're in some Real pretty shot now, Man!" in THX really appeals to me.

The DC of Alien is not available on video. Alien is being re-edited for its new theatrical release; Some scenes are shortened and deleted scenes added. I dont know if it'll be available on video or not; theres a new box set coming to DVD in december but its unknown if it will contain the Directors cut.

I've only seen The Exorcist once, and when I did I laughed for 30 minutes non-stop after the scene where she turned her head all the way around. I missed much of the movie, and I was exhausted afterwards.

I actually know the priest in the movie who the girl waved to at the end (though I never actually saw the movie myself.)

Thanks, zombie, for that wonderful contribution. Yes, stress and fear can induce miscarriages. Any questions?

Personally, I thought The Exorcist sucked. The scariest movie I saw as a child was The Birds *shiver*

Exorcist is a creepy ass movie and the only movie that can still send shivers down my spine.

The dialogue between the Priest and the Demon is scary as hell. Not so much as in the sinister voice, vomitting little girl, or head spinning. But just the pure insidiousness of the girl and continual transformation. The provoking done by the demon, and the near impotence of the Priest which fit in beautifully with the backstory.

Amazing movie.

The Ring. I still have trouble sleeping at night once and a while.

Oh, and Ernest Scared Stupid - pretty scary for a little kid.

The old black and white vampire movies scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. But Exorcist is the scariest movie I'd ever seen.

But then again, I'm chicken-shit. Poltergeist, Alien, Raising Cain, Nightmare on Elmstreet, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the list goes on and on) all scared me
