Bird of Prey?
In the preview for the next episode of Enterprise the Romulans are
briefly mentioned and we get a glimpse of what I am assuming to be a
Romulan Bird of Prey. The ship design looks mostly like the orignal
TOS version but the nacels are reworked to suggest the influence of wings in
the styling. Plus it looks like the color and texture of the ship is more like the
TNG era War Birds.
I should have known that B&B and Parmount would squeeze the Romulans
into Enterpirse just in time to give Nemesis a little push.
Anyway, I thought the ship looked kind of cool before it cloaked.

Hmm, Rommy BoP in Boobyprize? Where's that pic? I'll bet thatsa gooda ship! I design starships and weapon systems in my spare time too...In the preview for the next episode of Enterprise the Romulans are

B+B=Wankers! And I used to LIKE Trek too (a long time ago in a hick town far, far away) Everything was fine the first part of TNG, but they got WAY too PC on us, and it was all downhill from there.... Lata and Happy Fragging!I should have known that B&B and Parmount would squeeze the Romulans

What's the wrong if they want to show Romulans in Enterprise? As long as they remain somewhat a mystery to Earth -- and I don't mean the way they included Ferengi in "Acquisition" -- it should be ok. B&B have occasionally managed to do some good stuff and I'm hoping the best with the Earth-Romulan that we'll undoubtedly see sometime in the future.

Re: Bird of Prey?
Why are you suprised the B&b would pass up any chance to make a little cash nor matter how much damage it would do creatively? They're whores, they do anything and everything they can to squeeze a few more dollars out of Star Trek.Tsyroc wrote:I should have known that B&B and Parmount would squeeze the Romulans

God damn them. They were supposed to leave TOS continuity alone. And didn't they say that the continuity was flawless? The mere existence of such a ship in Enterprise precludes their continuity.

That was disapointing ..Should we show this Federation how to build a ship so we may have worthy foes? Typhonis 1

Well when you delude yourself as well as B/B seem to do the continuity would be flawless.
When I heard that the next Trek was going to be a prequel to TOS I didn't think much of the idea. (Have you seen the old Daedalus class ships?? Agggh) but it sounded better than "Starfleet Acadamy".
Having not expected much from Enterprise I've actually managed to enjoy it for the most part. Something I couldn't do with Voyager. B/B seem to be getting away from the "We're in the Middle of Nowhere with No One to Bail Us Out" premise that made the show interesting to start with. I guess I'll have to see where this goes and hope they ditch that stupid time travel bs. Either that or they need to take it so far in some dircetion that no one sees it coming and it ends up having major impact that isn't going to be unloaded as soon as it becomes inconveinent. (I'm hoping for a total erasure of Voyager, or just the elimination of Janeway from the timeline).

I feel almost the same way about Voyager ecept that I want the whole series to have been a dream that Janeway experienced just before she died on the Caretakers array.
The alternate timeline actually works pretty well for Enterprise. It could be used to explain why the ships look different and maybe why TOS Klingons didn't have the funky heads.

Ah, but Archer does not have phasers, he has phase pistols. And obviously Spock was not the first Vulcan to serve on a Starfleet ship, he was the first Vulcan/Human hybrid to serve on a Starfleet ship. Rmember, the continuity is airtight.Muad'Dib wrote:yeah how come Archer has phasers and his ship looks better than the original Enterprise. More to the point whats this shite about vulcans serving on starfleet ships, i thought Spock was the 1st. THe should change the title to Enterprise: - the search for more money
As for the title change, well, they may be searching for more money, but I suspect they are cutting the throat of the Trek franchise in terms of long-term profitability. Voyager did enough damage, and Enterprise may well be the final nail in the franchise's coffin. The only good thing about the two shows is that so few people can or will watch them, which minimizes their effect on the casual fan of Trek.
