Jägermeister is definitely not a anise flavoured liquor. It's just a herbal liqueur, and a tasty one at that :)
It's icky-poo! The fact that it requires beer to wash it down is it's only redeeming virtue! :D

Real absenthe is practically impossible to get in the United States. The only person I know who's had it (and I know some people who've been pretty serious druggies) was at some crazy German shindig.

So yea, when you drink something that's 75% alcohol, you might not like the experience. 151 is used mostly for mixing with punch and killing frat boys.

Oh, and my least favoite alcohol is triple-sec. Yes indeed.

Any gin or vodka kills me. Can't stand it. And my first drunk was "Thunderbird", that brings back bad memories too. I once had a very, very bad run-in with screwdrivers that has soured me on Vodka forever, and I have always thought that gin tasted like crap. Tequila also brings tears to my eyes.

And white wine kick's Lilith's ass all over, too.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Hhahahaha, that's about one-half of WeeMadAndo's favourite drink of all time (a chartreuse).

As for me, I think Jägermeister is at the top of my list. Tastes like NyQuil and costs like 13 times more. Although, 99 Bananas comes close too. Imagine rubbing alcohol + those little banana-shaped, banana-flavoured Runts candies, and you get 99 Bananas!! YUCK!!

Oh, and beer tastes like what I imagine piss must taste like. :D

To all you Gin bashers.

You are supposed to mix that stuff!

Get 1/3 gin 2/3 Tonic. Add a slice of lime and ice.

My absolute favorite during the summer time.

And mmm.... tequila.........

Frank Hipper wrote:You people aren't talking about REAL Absinthe, are you? The kind made with wormwood, causes hallucinations, extreme thirst, and strong addiction?

I think someone is just marketing a nasty liquor with the name Absinthe pasted on, the real stuff's been illegal, practically worldwide, since 1903 or so.
The ban is being lifted in many places now, it's legal in most of europe, it's weaker nowadays bot in alcohol content and wormwood concentration, it varies from 45% to 70% and the brands are very different, I dunno which one would be most similar to the real absinthe of old though.

Anyway Absinthe was a big danger to the french wine-makers a century or so ago, so essentially a big smear campaign was started against it.

Thanks to some guy loosing it and killing his family it was finally outlawed.
Their argument was he lost it because of Absinthe, they however forgot to mention he'd been drinking heavily of all kinds of booze and beer for a loong time.

Anyway the concentration of wormwood is so small in Absinthe that before you can get any harmfull effects, you'll have died several times over from alcohol poisoning already.

Actual scientific research done on wormwood has not shown any harmfull effects, hence it's becoming legal again.

Tequila does not have a worm in it. If it's made from agave and it has a worm and it doens't have a 'nom', its mezcal.

Not really.
But no, it doesn't. true Tequila only comes from certain areas of mexico, is very closely regulated, and doesn't have a worm.
Don't say I didn't learn anything from shagging a bartender in a Mexican restaurant.

I do. I can't stand normal martinis solely because of the gin, though vodka martinis are wonderful.

I agree, Beer is the worst. I can't stand the hops taste.

NExt worst is home-brewed potato-based 'shine. 'Shines should *only* be made with corn, dammit! Clear as water, barely a scent to it, and BUUURRNNING all the way down.

oh.. and Melomel is the suckiest type of mead I've ever tasted. Whenever I taste any marketed brand of mead its' tasted shitty. Then again, maybe I'm spoiled by the homebrewed goodness provided by various SCA households.

Personally, i can't stand absinthe, that stuff makes me want to puke for hours, i don't though. The blue aftershocks make me feel ill too.

Beer tastes bitter, and i hate bitter things. Even chocolate can be a chore to eat if it's bitter.

Wine tastes generic to me, it's not particularly bad and i can get drunk from it.

Ouzo i can handle, but i loathe absinthe.

I'm going to have to go with Jeger on this one. That stuff tastes like Buckley's cough syrup and once, after a 'few' shots, made me actually throw up on someone (not one of my finer moments).

The other thing about Absinth is that, since it's been iillegal for a hundred years, its effects haven't really been studied very thoroughly so all people go on are stories. Why would you drink that straight anyway? Aren't you supposed to mix it with about 5 parts sugar water?
