I guess there could be worse choices.

I take it they'll make a comedy out of it?

Here's a worse choice. Steve Martin has been tapped to play as Inspector Clouseau in a remake of Pink Panther.

Steve Martin has not been tapped to do any such thing. Jeffrey Rush is doing it- who is a DEAD RINGER for Peter Sellers, in case noone noticed- it was in TIME magazine- he was dressed up and everything.

As to this $6,000,000 man crap- good, a comedy would do well to mock that awful fucking show.

Ohh great.....

Why the fuck did they pick that piece of shit moron Jim Carey? I've yet to see any of his stupid ass movies that were worth a damn. HE JUST ISN'T FUNNY. He can't act his way out of a wet paper sack......

There are SO many more qualified actors, yet they pick that dipshit. I hope that movie flops big time.

Jim Carey as the Six Million Dollar Man? Why didn't he just sign up to be Inspector Gadget, that seems to fit more with his schtick.

:( and I can't believe Vympel was dissing on my childhood like that. :)

Truthfully, I haven't seen the show since the early 80's so undoubtably my memories are being too kind but that doesn't mean they couldn't make a good update on the show. Considering all the other cyborg stuff that has gone on since then it might be tough to compete.

There were a couple of tv movies in the late 80s / early 90s. The part of the one I saw was pretty decent but then nostalgia may have been running rampant.

The Truman Show is good. I also heard that The Majestic was good.

I figured out he could act, I mean really act, during Ace Ventura. I've been waiting for him to do a serious movie where he really acted. The Truman Show was almost a great performance. There were some scenes, because of the camera angle or the look on his face that broke the moment. In The Majestic, it was a similar problem, sort of. I'm so used to reacting to his facial contortions that when he tries to be serious with them I want to smile or chuckle thus maligning the effect both he and the director were going for. Someday he may do a great movie and people will react properly, but I don't think he'll achieve what Robin Williams did with Good Will Hunting.

I highly doubt that--they'd have to be totally clueless to ignore the fact that the Seventies Slow-Mo Run is the funniest part of the show.

After hearing that sound effect for the third time, I wanted to shoot the guy who thought it up. In other words: I hope not.

Oh no, I picture Carrey doing the slow-mo personally, without slowing down the camera. I seem to recall him doing some slow-mo schtick in something.
