Re: Who wants to fly a Missile Boat?
I preferred the XG-1 StarWing Assault Gunboat myself. Heavily shielded, decently maneuverability and acceleration. (Very good acceleration if one had a Gunboat equipped with a tractor beam . . . I always just dumped the extra energy into the engines.) And it contains a decent loadout of concussion missiles.RayCav of ASVS wrote:General discussion about Cygnus SpaceWerks' XM-1 NovaWing Missile Boat!
Of course, then again, I'm perfectly happy in a TIE Interceptor or even a TIE Bomber.

The TIE Bomber is a crappified Y-Wing. That's saying something.

In TieCD the presense of a tractor beam is mission-dependant for all ships. The Missile Boat is no exception: in some missions it's outfitted with a tractor beam, in some missions it isn't.

Yes it is.RayCav of ASVS wrote:The Missile Boat is severely castrated in XWA.StarshipTitanic wrote:Without SLAMS in XWA, half of its utility is gone. Otherwise, it's a pretty good little ship.
1. Missiles Torpedoes now have a blast radius.
2. No Slam
3. Most Capital ships suck in XWA. Especially ISDII.
4. Fighters now get countermeasures.
5. Many ships now try to shoot the warhead down before
it hits the ship.
