Didn't he drink that stuff from the Holy Grail in the Last Crusade that makes you immortal?

As for the movie itself, Harrison Ford doesn't look bad for someone who's 60, and he does look pretty much the same as he did when he was Indiana Jones. If it turns out he's too old, they can just make an "Old Indiana Jones" series set in the 70's where a retired Indiana fights "young whipersnappers" outside his Miami condo.

Yes. But the immortality only works in the cave. And they left the cave.

If this is made because they read this, I will hunt you down and beat you with your own shoes.

I was kind of hoping that we'd see Sean Connery and Harrison Ford together again. Those two worked together fabulously.
Word has it that Connery will appear in the movie. Though I don't think he will play that large a part.

I've never been one to be infatuated with the idea of life eternal, but to have it but to be stuck in a cave forever--that would suck. That poor knight who threw away hundreds and hundreds of years of his life to just sit around and get dusty in a cave, just to have a short conversation, kill a Nazi, and then get crushed to death by his home of however many centuries.

Anybody that is worried about Ford getting too old, remember we're talking Hollywood here. If they can keep Connery as a credible action hero (regardless of how bad League of Ext. Gentlemen was, I'd hate to be punched by Sean in that movie) they can surely work a little of that magic on Harrison. With makeup and costuming, I don't doubt they could make him look early forties, let alone the 50's they are aiming for.

He did? I must have missed it underneath all that dust. :P

WTF?!

The Grail couldn't be taken out of the cave. They didn't say anything about the immortality effect not working outside of the cave!

If anything, the point was that you have to keep drinking from it to be truly immortal.

But who here liked the Crusade-era Knight speaking perfect modern English?

Which explains a couple of things:

1) Where Jesus was buried. (Where the cup works, duh!)

2) Why he died again. (Because he left the cave, duh!)

Of course, the second death, he didn't really "die", persee... but he went to heaven... people aren't usually allowed in there alive. :P

Neither Ford or Connery are slowing with age. They could do a great movie fight sterotypical commies. Of course nowadays it will have a strong pro-America thing.

The sheer amount of cutting for the fight scenes for Connery in LXG annoyed me and were hard on the eyes.

I don't know about letting him do that much action.

When? They said you couldn't take the Grail itself past the seal, and such was the price of immortality, but the actual immortality it bestows?

They said the grail cannot pass beyond the great seal. That is the boundary and the price of immortality.

I think it means that the grail and its power cannot pass, otherwise both Indy and Henry Jones Sr. are both immortal, since they both drank from the cup. That makes for a pretty bad movie if there is no chance, not even perceived, of them dying.

But literally it means that the cup can't pass. Though it hardly seems a price nor a boundary if any schmuck can drink it and leave and be immortal.

Remember, there were originally 3 brothers, all of them drank from the Grail. Only one stayed behind, the other two left.
And how does Indy find the Grail? By discovering the Tombs of the Dead Brothers, and the maps on their sarcophagi.
Why are the brothers dead? Because they LEFT, and stopped drinking from the Grail. :D

Thank you, Milady.

Just because you drink from it once does not mean you get immortality. It probably just heals wounds and sicknesses, maybe gives you a few years back on your life. It takes repeated drinkings to do so.

Yeah add to the fact the guy looked like he was pushing 70~80 gives more push that it doesn't grant immortality from one gulp...sorta doubt he was that old when hunting for the grail.
