Cambodian water festival coming up.
Every year around this time Cambodia's Tonle Sap river reverses its course. Since June the river has been flowing from the Mekong river to Tonle Sap Lake. Soon it will instead flow from the Tonle Sap to the Mekong. This event is cause for some celebration. Millions of people will be gathering to Phnom Penh for the festivities, my mother among them. Hopefully she'll take some pictures while she's there.
I prepared Explosive Runes today.

Very nice. I would like to see them, in fact, so.. Well, I hope she does, too!Raxmei wrote:Every year around this time Cambodia's Tonle Sap river reverses its course. Curious, though--I had thought the celebration was for the beginning of the floods, since they bring a fair amount of prosperity to the region, not their ending.

I think you're thinking of Songkran, the water festival in Thailand, which occurs in April. I haven't been there for that but I hear it's a lot of fun.The Duchess of Zeon wrote: Very nice. I would like to see them, in fact, so.. Well, I hope she does, too!

I have been there for Loi Krathong, the lunar holiday, and it is beautiful. Plus, all the bars have free food (usually a pig on a spit) available. I think I have some pictures of that around here somewhere....
