Not a dragon deck, that's my Tri-Color. It just has Rith in it. As you could tell, he's not the main card of the deck. Just a nice card to have.

Meh, I'm getting out of the game... I'm not quitting or anything, but I'm not gonna buy any more cards for a while... too many other things to want to buy, not enough money, and not enough freetime to play it.

I played gravity yesterday and got whooped every game. He runs so many old school decks :$
Played LadyTevar today... We drew the first one, I used a blue/black deck that was pretty cheap... Turned into a draw because I put infinite spells on the stack. I used my white deck, got murdered. After a long game with my blue control deck, she forfitted. My goblin horde was too fast for her angel deck, not to mention she was mana screwed.
Good games

Extremely good games. With work, that Angel Deck could become something nice. I was just getting all my high-cost cards, and no mana.Exonerate wrote:I played gravity yesterday and got whooped every game. He runs so many old school decks :$

Having your Celapid Constables send my land back to my hand every combat didnt' help either
And what he means by 'infinate spells', is that he had Mirari(?) out, the card that for cheap mana you can copy a socery or instant.
He then cast Cabal Ritual, with threshold, and uses the 5 black to 1) cast multiples of the Ritual ad infinitum, then 2) cast Drain Life for infinate points.
I jokingly asked him when/if the DrainLife would ever resolve, if he was going for 'infinate mana', so he calls it a draw.
His white deck was having critter problems, and I was playing the deck affectionately known as 80% (Blue/White Bird/Counter deck). He made the funniest faces whenever I countered his spells... and the Owl, Crow, Falcons, and Raven pecked him to death.
Gotta love 1/1 flying creatures.
So.... Gravity. When are you free for a match?

I'll probably be free to play next weekend. I don't have AIM, but I can get it, or you could use Trillian to contact xgravityx@hotmail.com on MSN messenger.LadyTevar wrote: So.... Gravity. When are you free for a match?

Wanna bet they made that ruling after someone pulled a similar trick?

Folks, sorry to sound like an old fogey here, but if you think you have discovered a new cheap infinite combo, go look up the oracle wording on the cards involved first. Please. From having to judge tournaments, you won't imagine how sickening it is to have to argue with some petulant 15 year old about how his "infinite" (there is no fucking infinite, only arbitrarily large, has been since tempest!!! You would have taken billions of mana burn and lost exonerate.) combo doesnt' work.
Even for simple casual play, one needs to know, and mostly abide by the rules (I personnaly like some house rules, so I won't completely condemn them).
Please people, make me a deal. Buy 1 starter of 8th and read the rulebook. Pretty please.

Hellion, the problem had been dealt with, your remark was not neccesary. And give the boy a break, not everyone is as knowledgable about the rules, God knows that I, and you as well probably, have thought of many a combo without checking the rulings first. No one cares about your sob stories about dealing with retarded 15 year olds, as Exonerate wasn't being pissy there was NO reason for that post.

Well, so much for that combo... Other "arbitrarily large" mana combos do exist though.LadyTevar wrote:Shrykull wrote:Oh *REALLY*. ::looks to Exo:: Next time we'll know thatYou can only copy a spell once with mirari

The best 'infinite combo' that I know of is Earthcraft + Squirrel Nest. Pick a thing, you have as much of it as you want.
Although for sheer joy I run an all-enchantment deck with Spirit Mirror and Unnatural Selection or Artificial Evolution. A 1-colorless-mana creature killing machine and a 2/2 creature every turn.
As an aside: Hellion, you're starting to come off like a fan at a football game who's lurching onto the field in the middle of the game and acting like he's the coach of both teams. It's obvious that you like to give people a taste of arrogant hostility where it's none of your fucking business to do so. Any more will be given the split and toss.

Its no more arrogant then telling someone a video game stratagy, or incisting that someone doesn't cheat.
I am sorry if it makes you angry to learn that you may not be playing by the rules correctly, but properly following rules is so important for the future of the game. And being informed that a combo or stratagy doesn't work is not arrogance, its just knowldge. Neither is my statements that certain decks are subpar, that again is common knowledge, much like one would say that the Chicago Bears are a worse team than the Vikings this year.
Since when is it arrogant to acknowlege that you are obviously in a position of possessing more skill, and knowledge in a field. Mr. Wong does it all the time about engineering, I do it about Magic. And the only hostility was over the 4 ancestral incident, which I feel is an amateur stunt that loses taste very quickly. i have played against enough assholes with proxied power to learn a thing or too.
Sorry to burst your bubble lagmonster, but what I am doing is no different than anyone does about quake, or starcraft, or any other game. The fact that I ruined some people fantasy that they were good (sorry, I know its a game for fun, but your "tournament" decklists rank you as amatuers.) or that I have a tendacy to rules lawyer (normally over issues that should require no lawyering) does not make me arrogant. I am rather arrogant about my ability, but that is because I deserve a good deal of it.
As for everyone else, as long as you're playing casual, have fun. If a rules infraction comes up in a post, I will point it out so as to avoid it further, but until then, happy playing. And anyone who would like to play either T1, unrestricted or casual, please message me. I most likely have time at night, and would like a good game.

The results of my touney.
I was playing a opalscence/replenish deck.
First match was against a reanimater deck. On the third turn he got out a irridecant angel. I then played a story circle white. For the next 10 turns he beat me down with his pit imp. I then played energy barrier. 4 turns later I replenished and got decree of silence, opalscence and two parralax waves out. I removed his creatures from the game and attacked with some enchantments I had out. He then conceeded.
On the second match was the first one, but 8 turns shorter.
My second opponent was the co-owner of the store. He was playing a suicide black deck. In the first match I was land screwd. He didn't play anything till the third turn. He played a hippie. I got hit couple times got a pair of opalscences into play. He drained life one and hit me with a bunch of canophages, played bargain. I drew my card saw it wasn't a replenesh and conceeded. Second match was almost the exact same thing exept that he hymed me on the first and second turn.
In the losers bracket it was a repeat of the first match. He got free entrance, and me and the co-owner settled it with paper, rock, scissors. He won.

Played against Cyran with a deck I'm going to actually make...
Managed to get a Cloud of Faeries out early, put a Curiosity on it. He got out a string of creatures, but I got lucky and managed to burn and counter them. He got a Howling Mine, which actually helped me a bit... I got a Cephalid Constable out, put Cloak of Mists on it and two Arcane teachings. At that point, he conceeded and had to go.
