On the SW hyperspace <-> 4th Empire Hyperspace similarities:
SW has or had hypergates too, but noone thought of them as practical as ships where much more mobile, and in SW unlike in the 4th imperium, personal ships are like owning an expensive car, and one can easily find transports to almost anywhere in the galaxy.
On the cybernetics issue, the 4th Empire seems to have generally superior enhancment abilities but SW has separatly displayed most of the capabilties one finds in an bioenhanched human being:
-Lobot for the neural interfaces(even though his interface is a bit clumsy)
Also with this interface one can also get information on subjects one knew nothing about and become instant experts, it acts as much more than a simple neural link it acts like an enhancment of the human brain.
-Lord Nyax had a small neural CPU implanted in his brain that gave him more focus and determination and learning abilities
-Lord Nyax after having half his brain turned into carbon had most of it replaced with neural computers, he was awaiting a memory download that would have given him most of memories or something similar before he went berserk.
-SW neurosurgeons where able to rebuild the neural pathways(with artificial replacements) of some poor bastard and turned him into a cyborg soldier of sorts
-Piggy, a Gammorean had his brain structure altered so he became more docile and way more intelligent, in human standards they turned him into a genius and used him for espionage since noone would have suspected a Gammorean who is usually stupid critters
There where also people who had lost eyes and where able to focus them like binoculars and so on.
As for the strenght and longetivety enhancments, I have found no real candidates.
