Every story I have ever written stays as "untitled", because I'm horrible with titles. Anyone who can do a proper title deserves an award, 'cause damnit, it isn't very easy.

Mark S: Oscar-nominated and Oscar-winning films don't get to run/win again. The same holds true for the GSDAs. At least, for that category (a precedent established in year 2).

But movies aren't even NOMINATED unless they are in the one-year period since the last Oscars..

That's because movies don't come out in installments across multiple years, the way fanfics do.

True... but then we'd get Starcrossed winning half the awards this year, too.

I think I agree with Dalton, more because fan-fics have a larger permanence than Movies or shows do, and there are more fanfics than movies. Anyone can go out and write a Fanfic, but few people write good fanfics (no offense to anyone), but the people who do deserve recognition.

A) The GSDAs are merely based on the Oscars. They're not identical, obviously. Fanfics don't follow the format of any other medium besides maybe old-timey motion picture serials like Flash Gordon.

B) The people who run the GSDA made the decision two years ago that a fic could only win an award once.

C) The GSDA is mainly a recognition of excellence in a particular category. We don't need to repeatedly say that "X" fanfic was really good--once is enough. This isn't a "hey ur cool" celebratory fellatio like the Emmy's.

The general idea was to have a "Most fucked up fic" award. I was thinking using a quote form either Spock or Data to the point of "This is most highly illogical" or just the standard "WHAT IS YOUR MAJOR MALFUNCTION?!"

Don't take this the wrong way but I think thats a mistake. Authors spend ALOT of time thinking up a title for their work. They deserve some credit for that.
