If you dunk it in holy water and place it on the floor, will it turn into the real thing? ;)

I highly doubt that you can make enough money doing this to have it be done just for the money.

Especially since he was only making 50 of each individual.

Why?

While I would have personally chosen someone other than Mengele as the other doll, such as Rommel or maybe Himler, I really don't see a problem since he is not idolising the values or policies of the Nazi regime.

Ask that from a person Spanky, who lost her/his parents in one of the camps.

I bet those people don't want to see Hitler, especially Dr. Mengele anywhere.

It's not a movie-villain figurine, it's Adolf Hitler who managed to build up a regime that systematicly killed approx. 11 million human beings in an industrial way. Before that approx. 72.000 communist and "enemy of the regime" were killed with axes in empty facories.

I'm really fed up with the growing racism all over the world and this is like throwing another glass of petrol to the fire....although just a very small one.

Make a collection of figurines, like "Great Names of WW2" including Zhukov, Ike, Patton, Montgomery not just germans and forget Dr. Mengele at all. In that case I'd say it's OK.

Actually some of those figures exist.

The intro is the pertinent part.

I don't see how a Hitler action figure is going to incite more racism, these toys are meant for collectible stuff, and if people are into WW2 that much, they'll know what Hitler did. It's not like four year olds are going to find it and start heiling.

What about Rommel? He wasn't evil, he was just on the wrong side.

Heh, maybe it has a built-in chip like those figures in "Small Soldiers".

That would be crossing the line.

Seriously though, if they started releasing a set of WW2 toys featuring some of the more infamous people from history, then this would work. Sure, some people would complain because its has Hitler period. However, it wouldn't be as bad because there is an actual premise to it. He's the bad guy, and you have the good guys to fight him. (ala Small Soldiers style...only not as violent...or intelligent for that matter.)

There already is a line. They have Roosevelt, Stalin, Hitler, Hirohito, Mussolini, and Churchill. The Western version has Custer and Crazy Horse.

12in figures are so damn expensive anyway that making them chipped would be overkill.

Still, the concept of them being chipped is kinda funny once you think about it. Just think of the conversations you'd have. :D

I'd love to get the Stalin one. Is there a pic?

That'd be cool, it could speak to rooms full of toys, and rally them.

Head Sculpt

I don't think they have any Stalins left.
