The AARP is the largest & most influential lobby in Washington (just try and cut medicare/social security, youll be wacked by the lawyers of the poor grannies), the baby boomers born shortly after WWII are now entering retirement/medicare age (Over 55), so as soon as the boomers and the vietnam vets, and the hippies become the dominant force in the largest lobby group howlong before any of the following happens
1. Agent Orange is recognized by the Federal Government, along with Dioxin, and families effected by those birthdefects and cancers get some treatment/Compensation
2. Pot is legalized and covered under medicare, well their now of age to be claiming it relieves their glaucoma, arthritis, and various cancer related problems.
3. My generation get's royally "Jacked" for having to foot the bill
4. On a side note they finally get their holy grail and every document related to Nov 22nd 1963, Dallas is released to the public.

Im not much for conspiracy's but Im wondering if the large debt we keep building we be eventually used as an excuse to get rid of such programs by the neo-con types. They seem perfectly willing to use debt to fund miltiary stuff be never social. So one of these days they will tell our generation, "hey..we need to raise your taxes to fund social security and medicare or we can cut those programs back."

It'll just be "we need to raise your taxes to fund social security." Since most voters are over the median age, no politician will alienate their support base by even suggesting cutting Medicare once the baby boomers reach the appropriate age.TrailerParkJawa wrote:Im not much for conspiracy's but Im wondering if the large debt we keep building we be eventually used as an excuse to get rid of such programs by the neo-con types. Why isn’t that ever an issue of politics? Because you don’t live in a democracy. You live in a plutocracy. Money rules.
