I was thinking of the scenarios:
The major land-masses against each other. Africa unites (somehow) and decides that they need to conquer their previous colonial masters. They want to take Europe, and are unified as a task force as the Red army was at the end of ww2. What technology could Africa get hold of and utilise in this fictional war, now that they're unified?
The oriental nations have become one nation too(run by China, or North Korea if you want),and are currently allied with the Africans(though they may turn on them later if they want to make their empire to take over) and are attacking Europe from the East, fighting through the areas like India and pakistan and the other 'stans (which are allied with Europe).
The south american continent has also become one country, and is allied with The Europeans/North America.
The North American continent is same as it always is, and is allied with Europe, and will presumably be fighting the Orient, seen as africa's fairly far away.
Commonwealth is still together.
Next scenario: same as above, only South american continent is allied with Axis powers.
Next scenario: As above, only now the commonwealth is dissolved, and the american continent is a unified country, with empire building of it's own in mind...
Next scenario: America has split up into it's constituent states, North Europe has become a superstate run by the UK, and the commonwealth wants to take over Africa/North America again. The orient isn't in a fighting mood in this one, nor is south america (but the new british empire might want to take those over too).
Technology isn't that advanced beyond what we have now, but stuff like that Laser thing in SLAM are now a reality, but only the first-world nations would have them.
I've been toying with the ideas of near-futures with slightly different pasts to make the biggest wars possible, and came up with this. Sorry.
