"Considered" -- past tense. Title of the thread is misleading. Besides, Slashdot has all the journalistic integrity of a supermarket tabloid, and the only "evidence" to that this ever occured is hearsay from Groenig.

It's been reported elsewhere. And given the vindicative nature of FOX News I think it's safe to take Groenig's word for it.

Nitpick: It's "vindictive". "Vindicative" (is that even a word?) would derive from "vindicate" which is not at all like vindictive.

This is past tense, they never did. I heard that radio bit; Groening said that FOX News threatened to sue him, but he decided to call their bluff after realizing that Murdoch wouldn't waste money suing himself.

I saw it, the FOXNews part is excellent, full of technical errors, a Soviet hammer and sickle appearing behind Krusty, and funny messages in the scroller like "92% of Democrats gay?" "Next on Hannity and Idiot" et cetera.
