Borg Cubes vs DS

Post by Bertie Wooster »

How would one go about figuring out how many borg cubes it would take to destroy a completed Death Star 2 that has no ship support?

I'm not interested in a number (if there is one :? ) as much I'm interested in coming up with a method to get that number.

I thought that Borg Cubes would be most effective using warp-speed kamikaze attacks to the point of where they overwhelm the suppressive TL fire, bring down the shields, and gradually destroy the superstructure of the DS. However, I don't know if Borg Cubes at warp-speed would simply be vaporized harmlessly and not detonate upon impacting the shields. Or is this avenue of reasoning like trying to calculate how many English Longbowman launching their arrows it would take to destroy an Iowa-class Battleship  ? hmmmmm.

This like trying to wonder how many pebbles it would take to destroy a Sun.

That would seem to be an excellent comparison for the task.

Mole of E-Es actually, and it was agreed that all those ships crammed into such a small space would create a black hole, and suck the DSII in :D
'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

And people wonder why the SB.com "vs" forums are considered a waste of time, even by the low standards of the "vs" community.

The SWvST debate is dead in terms of actually arguing that a Fed ship (or even a hundred Fed ships) could take out an ISD. The published specs and the onscreen events of the latest films have made that pretty clear. But it's better to actually accept that than to argue bullshit in order to keep the debate alive, which is what's happening in a lot of places.

I don't actually go on SB.com much anymore, but it pretty much has been accepted by all serious parties involved with the STvsSW debates. The problem crops up every once in a while that someone who's read Darkstar's website and is feeling like a big man shows up and rallies Scooters fans there. Then the same debate that has been said a dozen times before happens, as the more serious Trekkies try and talk the neophytes down and everyone else who cares tears into them. It always ends with the debate neophyte being beaten into submission and join the growing ranks of mostly silent Dorkstar supporters. They probably sit stewing in their juices and waiting for they day when they will rise up and make black the sky with their numbers, overwhelming all common sense, facts, and logic in an orgy of Dumb Trekker Rage.

Hutt's don't reproduce sexually so Janeway porn would be worse.
