Song Name #2 (from Equilibrium)

Post by kojikun »

Anyone know the title of the song in Equilibrium that Preston plays on the phonograph in the secret basement room, when he cries because hes off his Prozium? Dvorak's 9th Symphony Part 3 starts very similarly to it, only much simpler and more boring, but isn't it. Anyone know the name?

I think the director mentions what the music is in the commentary because he had trouble getting the version he wanted. When I get a chance I'll check to see what it is.

Something wicked this way comes.

According to the director the music when Preston drops the snow glob and begins to cry is Beethoven's 9th Symphony, First Movement.

Apparently it's not the arrangement he wanted in the film or the one he used while filming.

That's what he said. Unfortunately I don't have any complete Beethoven symphonies so I can't check myself.

It sounds like Mvt. 1 but only in the general area of what three notes the thing has as an overall sound..
