I like what Vince Lombardi said: "We'll run it until they make us stop." Or words to that effect. The Super Bowl trophy is named after the guy, for Chrissakes, so I think he knew what he was talking about.

Running doesn't work quite as well when your quarterback is afraid of contact with another player.

Guess he's afraid it might hurt his chances if he hurts himself to get into the XFL if it makes a comeback. :D

North Alabama defeated Number 1 Valdosta State today in Division II football! The upset victory should propel UNA to Number 1!

In unrelated nes the Terps looked bad for one quarter then set an ACC record for points scored in the second quarter against the lowly Tar Heels.

Way to go, Florida! Now no SEC team has a shot at the national championship. Seems the SEC knocks itself out of contention every year...

Yay! Georgia falls! This leaves the way open for WSU to advance if they beat USC tonight.

It would have been nice if Penn State had pulled out a win against OSU. :(

if you want some consolation Galvatron, Looks like Virgina Tech just lost a few of their best players, including D'Angelo Hall due to unsportsmanlike ejections and such.

They got a game against a tough Pitt team next week and they'll be down two or three guys. their beating Miami so bad might be the root cause of of their not winning the Big East if they lose to Pitt. Then thats two conference losses , Miami would simply have to win out.

But still this is getting oogly.

UT finally beat Duke 23-6. We were tied at 6 at the half (2 field goals each), and UT finally scored some touchdowns in the 4th. Seriously though, that was one of the worst games I have seen UT play. I mean, it's our homecoming and we were tied at 6 at the half with DUKE! At least we won, which is more than I could say about last year's homecoming game against Miami, in which we lost miserably.

The Canes are still a good football team; they're just not as good as so many thought. A few of their games this year shed light on some weaknesses. The Hokies did what no other team this year could do -- they shut down the Miami running game and turned them into a one-dimensional team. The Hokies also took maximum advantage of playing at home...

That actually scares me right now. Georgia Tech plays Duke next week, and our team has a habit of not showing up when playing teams that suck. Hopefully they've learned thier lesson from the Clumpson game, and deal with Duke.

I want to be 8-3 on November 29. 9-3 when we dispose of the mutts.

beat Pitt next week and maybe we'll reconsider VT as a legitimate national Power.

Lose and your whole season boils down to just that one game, and although it was beautiful, im sure a top ten team has more ambition than beating a conerence rival.

Honestly I didn't give us a chance in hell against Miami today but we got it done.

One can only hope we keep the steam up with no more meltdowns.

We play Miami next week, and after their upset in Virginia today, we might have a chance to redeem ourselves for last year's homecoming fiasco. That is, as long as we don't play like we did today. I mean, we won, but the first 3 quarters were just shoddy. Maybe, just maybe, we can rally and pull it off.

The good news is...that I really wouldn't mind watching OU spank the shit out of USC in the Sugar Bowl.

It's still possible that OU might throw in a late season choke game but right now it seems doubtful.

That's alright. The Hokies waved goodbye to their Sugar Bowl hopes against WVU.

Attempt to cheer up noted and appreciated (thank you), however I don't see that happening. I think we've got at least one more loss on our way; we're just way too beat up physically to win big games, and Auburn must be licking their chops right now after the awe-inspiringly bad performance of our offensive line. I would certainly love that matchup, however.

Sorry buddy -- his Tide fan knows how you're feeling. Such is the reason I've pinned all my college football hopes on North Alabama this year, who happened to knock off top-ranked Valdosta State on Saturday.

Watching Miami get pounded did help my mood some...
