Tonight Simpsons Halloween Special

Post by Montcalm »

In the last three or four years i noticed that Fox do not show the Simpson Halloween Special in the days before or at halloween night, but four days or sometime like today two days later,is it so hard to air them at the right moment.

Well they have to air it on a Sunday. But it's odd that they don't do it the Sunday before Halloween.

Wasn't Keen Eddie the show that was canceled for the OC? Regardless of which one, FOX still sucks.

I think so. Did they even show all the episodes for Keen Eddie? Because I know they filmed 13.

Showing it on Halloween would actually be quite stupid, since so many people would be busy doing other things like trick or treating.

They should still show it before though.

Then again, I wonder how many people, who don't normally watch The Simpsons, would actively go out and watch the Halloween special just to get into the Halloween spirit.

I hope this one is better than last year's Treehouse of Horror. That was pathetic.

Wouldn't the Sunday before Halloween have been Game 7 of the World Series though? I don't think they could shuffle their schedule on short notice (the Marlins winning Game 6 on Saturday).

That would explain it. But how about the last couple of years?

Um...the fact that this is the network that was going to sue itself?

There was an NFL game before it, right? I think that dragged on too long, so the Simpsons was aired later, as King of the Hill was still on when I turned on the TV at 8.

When fox bought the rights or ability (what ever term is used) to show the World Series, they pushed back their Sunday night and often most other nights premier's including Simpson's.

While Fox broadcast's the World Series, you will always have to wait until the week after for the premier of their shows especially on weekends where 9 out of 10 times the last game will be played on a 4 out of 7 series.

Let me state two things:
1) I wasn't really all that thrilled with this year's Treehouse. Sure it made me laugh but not like most of the earlier ones have. I don't know it just seemed flat to me.

2) May Fox forever die for canceling Dark Angel. I missed most of Season 2 and after I bought the DVD I figured I would get SOME kind of closure...no such luck. Goddamn bastards had to leave everything hanging.

A wonderful episode. Though not up to par with the Omega Homer and comic book man.

Best laugh that came out of me was the Time Stop with Homer at the Nuclear Facility. ~Jason
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

The only part I enjoyed was the brief bit with the Aliens.

"i disagree."

That episode sucked except for the last one where they stop time, which hardly even seems appropriate for a Halloween special (but then they've strayed so much over the years i dont even notice anymore). The one with death had its moments--the ending with God was very funny but it just sorta ended when it was getting good. Oh well. We always have the reruns from season 3-7 (aka the Golden Years).

Well, at least it was better than last year's. The second Halloween special will always be my favorite.
