Or why Grand Master Terwynn can't blink.
I spent three days straight reading the Sluggy archives. This brings me to the point of my post. A cursory inspection of the forum doesn't scare up a thread like this in recent history so here is today's question:
What web comics would you recommend to other denizens and why?

No....no I cannot tell you. The twisted web I have woven for myself...it would surely break any other who dared to tempt fate.
I have sampled dozens, perhaps even hundreds of webcomics in my time. Quality is always a question, both in writing and in art. Puncuality is another. It is all too common for webcomic artists to produce no buffer strips and thus fall dreadfully behind during times of high stress.
If the art is incredibly poor, but the writing is good, the artist should hire someone else to do the art and stick to being a writer...that or use lower-impact forms of art (sprite comics, cut and paste, etc). If the quality of art is high, but the story is lacking or nonexistant, seek out a writer!
Some webcomics are exquisite, but only update weekly. These I don't read for months at a time, then go and catch up on the last several pages.
But I ramble. There are many...one needs to merely look. Keenspot and Keenspace hold many gems, though you will have to look very carefully for them in Keenspace
I see malnutrition and sleep deprivation in your future. Buy Hungry Man Chicken Pot Pies to sustain yourself through your quest.

Do not meddle in the affairs of insomniacs, for they are cranky and can do things to you while you sleep.

Mine are more Fantasy- related, but here's my list.
Bruno The Bandit (http://www.Brunothebandit.com) MWF -- D&D Spoof, Pratchett readers will like
College Roommates from Hell (http://www.CRFH.com) M-Sat -- Just what it says.
Clan of the Cats (http://www.Clanofthecats.com) currently MWF --Magic, Paganism, Shapeshifting, and Cats.
User Friendly (http://www.UserFriendly.org) -- (mis)Adventures in Computer Engineering
AlienDice (http://www.Aliendice.com) -- What if your life was a game that you had to win? Manga-based comic, MWF, will be M-F once the author's new baby settles in.
Chronicles of a Drow Sorceress (http://www.Drowtales.com) -- Every Two Days, sometimes Daily. Manga-based comic, mature themes. The story of one drow surviving her society.
Antihero for Hire (http://www.antiheroforhire.com) -- One man's crusade to clean up his city. Spoof of the dark, brooding super-vigilante genre. MWF.
Ozy and Millie (http://www.ozyandmillie.net) -- Animorphic comic that is a mix of Peanuts and Bloom County. Touchingly sweet, bitingly satiric, and totally loveable. MWF, currently artist is on vacation and running reruns of his favorite strips.

Nitram, slightly high on cough syrup: Do you know you're beautiful?
Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

It's Walky! is a great comic. It was originally called Roomies, but in 1999, it changed it's focus, and became It's Walky!
It's got an interesting cast of characters who work for the agency SEMME, which battle alien invaders. It's got a great mix of comedy and drama, and it can get very deep at times. (Like the current storyline is going...)

Foxtrot, Garfield and Dilbert are all available in papers, so the only one that's exclusively on the web is the Gamespy Daily Victim which isn't a comic as such it's just a "funny thing" for gamers.

Schlock Mercenary, at schlockmercenary.com
The artwork is initially poor, but greatly improves over time and is now fairly decent. It is a daily comic, has *never* missed a day in several years of operation, and is very, very funny. Basically, it's the story of an intrepidly greedy band of space mercenaries in a bizarre 31st century.
