C&C Generals Multiplayer over Internet
Has anyone gotten this working with direct IP to IP connections over the Internet (as opposed to a LAN), or do you have to go through EA's online matchmaker system? I find their system rather irritating, particularly when I'm just trying to set up a game between two people.

Never tried. I played 1-on-1 games with my friend quite a bit, I just went to a less populated room like Germany 2 or somesuch then set up a passworded game. *shrug* A bit annoying, yeah, but I never had any problems with it.
