As for the "power source" the mahines harvest from the humans, it doesnt look like its thermal energy at all. But sometype of "life energy aka magic.
I'm not joking, is wish I was.
When they jack into the Matrix they do upload their mind into a Virtual Avatar and when they logout, the mind is then downloaded.
With sometype of keeper system keeping the body & "mind" in sync. (And just like the Matrix the stupid thing is fairly "easy" to break)

Time for a rant.
I expected many things, hoped for some things and wished against others. Let's just say the wishes came true.
The movie was SUCH a let down that I felt like leaving the theater by the Smith Battle at the end and one movie goer summed it up best as the credits started to roll in a very loud voice. "I want my fuckin' money back!" which started some applause from those of us trying to exit the theater as if we were trying to get away from a crime scene.
First let's dispense with the good stuff.
Battle at Zion's gates, VERY good, predictable but GREAT action and battle scenes.
The symbolic blinding of Neo, I liked that very much. Shades of Dune Messiah and other Messainic myths.
Niobe's character wasn't as grating in this one and there was not the predicatble. "Morpheus I really love you!" stuff that I was cringing was going to happen but did not.
Now let's tackle the crime that some would call a movie.
Merovingian scenes.....WTF?! They took the most intriguing character from Reloaded and made him into Tun tun ta "Mr. Plot Device." in big neon lights. Hello, while I'm at it I will lose my balls and have the WORST security imaginable in place to create the plot device scene that shows us Trinity at her best. We don't want to make hard decisions here, we just want more kung fu.
Neo....what can I say about Neo. The boiy can't emote. Just can't, its not in his nature and even the touching death scene made me roll my eyes. And they stuck him with the most innane lines. Hi, I'm a virtual god in teh MAtrix but I think I'll spend most of this movie getting my ass kicked because it will generate a false sense of drama that will make people say "Hmmmm Maybe he won't succeed. FUCKING AWFUL and a crime against the basic premise of this story. If I wanted to see Neo getting his ass kicked I will watch Matrix.
His death was...less than satisfying and his fucking tag line answer to Smith's very pertinent question of why. "because I choose to." THIS is what we were led by the nose throughout both movies to hear as Neo's final revelation?????
I FUCKING CHOOSE TO?!?!?
We were spoon fed in Matrix to a lesser extent and Reloaded to a nauseating extent about systems of control and what is control. WHERE the fuck was the payoff?? Why did I sit through a horde of characters speaking about control and it NEVR COMES UP. Not once, not even a passing fucking reference. Its as if Reloaded existed in Darkstar's parallel universe and the W brothers wrote Revolutions without referring back to Reloaded.
The Oracle....bastards. You want to sell some fucking video games??! Don't do it on my time you sons of bitches. Give us something, a flashback, ANYTHING to show us what happened to the Oracle, don't just mentioned, "Hey I lost my shell" and that's all I get yet get meaningful looks and Niobe basically stopping all the action to look at the screen and say "buy the video game for the full story."
Guess what, in Starcrossed I won't explain why Leia is suddenly in another body, I'll leave that to the Starcrossed Video game.
The Smith battle...the audience appauded desperately at this point, many already looking at each other with expressions of horrible realization that this sucked, but this is the final battle, right? Kung Fu will see us through this to a great ending, like Kung Fu saved Relaoded (for me anyway)
Were we ever disappointed. How many fucking times must we see each of them slump as iof in defeat and stand back up again. How many times must Smith look like he's being put down and come back again??
The ending. What. is. this. travesty?
Oh I get it, Neo is a messiah and like all messiahs he gave up his life....but wait....what did he give up his life for?!?! WHAT DID IT FUCKING MEAN?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Why are the final shots of the machines?? I didn't emotionally invest myself in a bunch of FUCKING programs. I emotionally invested myself in human FUCKING beings. I want to know what happens to Morpheus, Neo, Trinity. What does this ending mean for them??! The Orcale and sundry other programs can give me a rimjob for all I invested in them emotionally.
Someone help me...I feel violated as if the W Brothers bent me over a table and anally raped me without lube, each of them taking a turn.

Ummm, at the risk of being indelicate, what did you expect? I always thought the original Matrix was overrated but watchable.
However, when I saw Reloaded, I realized that the Wachowski brothers were nothing but pretentious hacks, high on their own self-importance. Never have I seen a movie that tried harder to shove its symbolism in your face. Hint to the Wachowskis: symbolism is supposed to be hidden beneath the surface; you're not supposed to make fucking characters talk to the audience about it.
After seeing that abortion of a movie, nothing the W brothers do now could possibly surprise me.

It seems like one of your biggest gripes are the "gaps" in the story. Or to put it in another way, you hated the fact the brothers created mystic by NOT explaining everything, having left it up to the audience to use their imagination. That is actually a valid story telling tactic used by authors of fiction, in fact Stephen King mentions this method in the preface to one of his books.Stravo wrote:Time for a rant. *snip*
Having read your previous threads, I'd call you a fan of the two preceding movies. Perhaps your expectations were too high for this one? Like those who expected TPM to change their lives in some fantastic way.

OK rant time:
1) I thought the movie was good. That's bad. When i say it was good i mean it was above average, not that it's very good or excellent. The movie shuld have had me coming in here and saying somethng like "THAT FUCKING ROCKED" or turning into an Einy spam style post complete with rainbow and l33t speak! Instead it's just a plain old good film instead of one of the best of all time!
2) The Neo-Smith fight was a piece of shit. there's not much else to say about it.
3) The ending was the third worst type of ending i could have thought of. (the 1st and second being "it's was a dream" and "matrix in a matrix" respectively) It didn't make sense and it sucked ass. Just WTF happened to SMith anyway. Most of the endings in the "endings thread" would have been way better. Also a bit annoying as it leaves it open for more films.
4) Smith was brilliant and worth the addmission price alone. The second best thing in the film.
5) The best thing in the film: Persephone's cleavage ! Hell Yeah!
6) Trinity dies. At least a major character died, that's good.
7) Defence of Zion started good but got a bit repetative. Fanboy was just fucking annoying and i bet people who haven't seen the Animatrix were confused. Mecha design was stupid. Sentinel tactics were some of the most retarded since Signs IMO.
Club fight scenes were the best in the film.
9) Not enough kung-fu, too much stupidity.
10) We find out who the crazy guy in Enter the matrix is, a henchman of the Merovingian, would have liked to see Neo kick his ass.
11) Too much philosphical bullsit by far.
12) Overall: The worst in the series. I actually like Reloaded the most.
6/10
Seraph. If i heard correctly one of the Merovingians guard called him wingless. Is Seraph a "fallen angel" in the same way that the Mer's guards are "vampires and werewolves"?

he also called seraph judas (i think), i think seraph might be one of merovingians creations, but he turned against him to help the oracle.

I agree that Reloaded was the best. by far. The freeway scene and the fight with Frogs Henchmen was too cool.

too much philosophical bull shit?
i barely noticed it...
It definately wasn't anywhere near as in your face as in reloaded, or even the first matrix.

I was hoping that Smith would win when he took over Neo, but then
they do a cheap ass method of copping out. For fucks sake, make
Smith be the ONE for gods sake, the one who ends the matrix, and
frees the humans from the machines!
Now that would have been a mind fuck

Smith was being affected by the stronger programs he assimilated, like the Oracle. My guess is that Neo was too much for him to handle (with a little help from the machines, who gave him the equivalent of an electrocardio stimulation) and the Smith program was disrupted2000AD wrote: There was some there, mainly in the first part. neo and smith are opposites... neo is + smith is -
put them together they cancel each other out.
remember the oracle talking about balance?

I had the expectation for utterly pointless action flick...and for the most part I did. Less Philobabble, bit more action...but now witha heroic scene for everyone
The Good:
1. No Keanu Ass.
2. No Matrix in a Matrix(though their own explaination might as well be polarity Catalyst reversal of the Core Plasmaotic Fusion Hyperdrive).
3. Battle of Zion(actually was decently done for some parts....a fuckload more exciting then Neo vs Smith)
4. Niobe was actually useful....and PROVED it.
5. ......ummm...Monica Belluchi's tits?(though I can other flciks for those)
The Bad:
Oi....this will take a bit.
1. The Train stop...humourous(Neo running around like the brainless chimp his actor is) but utterly a plot device. Merv is reduced to pretty much redshirt extra. "Hell" is a leather clad paradise filled with freaky deaks. The gunfight was done in the Matrix and done shitloads better(think a remake of the lobby gunfight but with Leather...and less of everything).
Overall....just a way to waste time and wax philosophical with programs.
2. Heroism taken too far. Literally evryone has some heroic moment....not just the heroes. Nope...you see that dork that was in Reloaded to annoy Neo...well he has some long dragged out heroic moment. Link's wife...yep, her too. Fuck, I was waiting for some background chibber to go John Rambo.
3. You need to play the video game to get half the references. Seriously they drop all this shit that is only and only explained in one place "Enter the Matrix"
4. Neo and Trin are dumb as oxen. I was waiting for Bane/Smith to scream "I'm fucking MR GODDAMN SMITH, MR ANDERSON...WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK I AM?!!!!!!!"
5. The final battle. Oh my god...why didn't they just go and do fireballs. Mike predicted DBZ. Well that's what we got...DBZ. We can fly and we'll hit each other and pose, hit each other and pose....hit each other and pose......oh and get up multiple time when it should be FUCKING over with.
6. The finale. Seriously I got it....but it was just not worth the price of admission(truly they should've ended this trilogy at MATRIX)
7. The Endings.....uh yeah. The war ended. The sun rises in the Matrix, people now have a choice. That said... "The Matrix tells me this steak is warm, moist and delicous....and after five of tasty wheat. I don't give a damn."

the gains of the last 3 matrix movies have been deleted. We need

what gains were deleted?
very little gain was made in the previous version, except that neo forced the machines to change their tactics and he did that outside of the matrix...on this restart the humans are given a concious choice of whether to remain in the matrix.

Since the original actor died, it might have been a bit difficult to show the original dying or having to insert into a new shell. It wasn't done very well, granted.Stravo wrote:The Oracle....bastards.
This is afunny assesment of Neo in the movie as well as Keanu's 'talents'
From CNN's review of the movie.Neo continues to be a custom-made role for Reeves' limited talents. The fact that his one-dimensional character is dazed and confused throughout most of the film fits Reeves' performance style to a T.
Wherever you go, there you are.

Anyone else notice Smith calling the Oracle mom?
Or the fact that Seraph has beaten Smith before.
Not sure if those points are covered in the game but would be interesting if Seraph were say a former agent with agents being the "angels" of teh matrix.
At least there weren't energy balls involved in the last seen, but I would honestly loved to see Krillin die again.
Bad guy shows up...
Krillin:"I'll take him on!"
Everyone else:"Start gathering the dragonballs, Krillin is going to fight again."

did anyone else notice the huge Star Wras reference? I sure did!
The hovercraft is racing back to Zion--suddenly a hundred Sentinels are right on their tails! "Man the turrets!". Everyone gets in those gun pod things and the little computer-aiming screens light up with grids. Morhpheus: "Here they come"
