New Version of "Trekmiss"!
"Trekmiss", that awesomely famous collection of clips showcasing the deadly accuracy of Trek weaponry, has been converted from its crappy .rm format to nice and pretty .avi! Be warned my dialup comrades, the file is 7MB.

Blech. WMP hates .avis. And so does Quicktime.

My biggest fan, Scooter, had to go make his OWN video, that he posted about at sb.com! Can this fuck get any MORE pathetic? Maybe the next time I wipe my ass, I should give him a call so he can run into the bathroom and follow suit.

I downloaded the RM version ages ago- but I haven't watched both to determine which is better- I downloaded the .avi but I haven't rewatched the RM version- must compare. Though they were both as dark as each other (in a few DS9 shots really)
As usual, Darkstar's aping of Lord Poe is not only transparent- it's inferior.
And where's the Jaffa video?

I guess the moron doesn't realize that in many of the scenes in SW, the Empire was going for near misses/disabeling the ship and heavy jamming. Furthermore, Poe's video was made not to compare the two franchise's accuracy but to refute a long standing and utterly moronic claim that Trek targeting is near flawless.Idiot Anderson wrote:As expected, the "Star Trek Weapon Accuracy Video" thread produced claims that Star Wars accuracy was better than that of Trek, by showing various examples of Trek misses culled from the many series and hours of ST.

It is, for all practical purposes, a mirror of Poe's work, down to the use of a silly and poorly-synched soundtrack. By showing various examples of SW misses culled from just one two-hour block of Star Wars, I should hope that such peculiar claims do not last long.
(Editorial note: I'd have used more examples from ANH and other films, but I simply didn't have enough music. Also, I hear that "Cool Guy" made something akin to this once (probably much better, too), but I've never seen it and haven't been able to locate it. If someone has that available, I'd be happy to host it if CG would like.)

A claim which is only carried by rabid trekkies. Thus it should be ignored.Darth Servo wrote:I guess the moron doesn't realize that in many of the scenes in SW, the Empire was going for near misses/disabeling the ship and heavy jamming. Yup. It also shows that claims about the Defiant taking out the Millennium Falcon are ridiculous. Defiant has are hard time trying to hit ships that AREN'T maneuvering. When they ARE, in a lazy back and forth evasion pattern, it's almost comical how it can't even graze the other ship. Now imagine the Falcon corkscrewing all over the place!Darth Servo wrote:I guess the moron doesn't realize that in many of the scenes in SW, the Empire was going for near misses/disabeling the ship and heavy jamming. Actually the Defiant class does have beam phasers.
