The Clone Wars Cartoon..

Post by Trytostaydead »

What do you guys think about it so far based on the commericals and little snidbits? Does anyone else feel the art really detracts from it?

I'm reserving judgement until we actually see the cartoon itself.

The vehicles look great, but I want to see the characters move around a bit before judging them. Yoda looks good, though I'm not so sure about Obi-Wan.

USA Today article on the cartoon series

Post by Lord of the Lurkers »

http://www.usatoday.com/life/television ... wars_x.htm

"Lucas chose Samurai Jack creator Genndy Tartakovsky to be the force behind the series. "(Lucas) said to stay between (Episodes) II and III and stay away from the love story, and that was it, to just focus on the wars," says Tartakovsky, whose other credits include creating Dexter's Laboratory and directing The Powerpuff Girls."

Always liked Samurai Jack, so it sounds promising.

I don't get the 3 minutes thou.....

I'm excited about it. I hated Samurai Jack at first because of the art but it grows on you after awhile. Though at three minutes a pop for a total of 20 episodes, it might not be long enough for some people to get used to it. You'll watch any way though, just to get your SW fix.

That's one hour of content, then, i guess it could be a nice 1 hour movie once it's done, if you see them one after the another, I hope they make it that way, and not a bunch of unrelated little stories.

Watch the Boba Fett cartoon on the SW Holiday Special. This art is fantastic in comparison.

I wonder if these 'toons will be canon or EU?

The voices bother me more then anything else. Too different from the movie.

Can't wait for it, looks kida sweet. Ijust love that look on Yoads face before he whips out his sabre. That might be on the Toonami ads only though, not sure.

I haven't seen it, but is the cartoon version of Asajj Ventress really as freakish as the promo images depict her as?

Side note: According to the CN ads, they're five minute episodes.

Never let anyone make you think cartoons are childish. Nothing beats coming home after a long day of school and enjoying an old fashoined episode of the Loonie Toons with Marvin and Bugs. Cartoons rock. :D

Pretty slick. At this point it appears that Anakin's frustration with Obi-Wan is increasing more rapidly - he appeared to be INTENSELY angry during the scene with Palpatine.

Also, Count Dooku with the Quarren...looks like a hole has been poked in the Rebel Alliance's revisionist history.

For real... it didn't seem even 5 minutes long. And while Yoda and Obi-Wan didn't sound terribly off, Palpatine was abysmal (just looking at him made me cringe). Anakin did not have a speaking part in this chapter.

In any event, the only thing important thing I can recall are Republic starfighters the clone troops hopped into on their way off Courscant. They don't appear anything like TIE Fighters or Jedi Starfighters; they look entirely new. Monday, a big space battle.

Shit son, I'm 27 and I still watch cartoons, and everyone knows it. You can't worry about what people think.

Now with that said. I agree with Spanky, way too short, not enough time to form a real opinion about it. I just thought of something Cartoon Network should do. Seeing how it looks to be a daily show, on Friday they should play all the episodes from the week together.

Damn right it's too short. They better have planned a few times to run the entire series in one go.
