Jagged Alliance 2: Wildfire!

Post by Vympel »

A new game based on the Jagged Alliance 2 engine is coming out- awesome.

Early 2004 release, will come free with the full version of the original, 19.99 USD

Awesome. New weapons include

- AN-94 (does a happy dance)
- USP
- Uzi
- UMP
- MP5A
- Mini-30
- HK33
- G36
- MP7
- MSG90
- RPK (does a happy dance)
- V-94 (does a happy dance)
- AS 'Val' (does a happy dance)
- VSS 'Vintorez' (does a happy dance)

Hoepfully the original will come with Jagged Alliance 2: Unfinished Business, which I never had the chance to play.

From strategfirst (publisher) page:
Wildfire, created by Serge 'Wildfire' Popov, a well known pioneer in the JA2 community includes changes to all weapons, landscapes, structures, missions, enemies and the AI. All elements within the game were altered to make it more realistic bringing it closer to real-life.

Hell yeah, I heard about this a few days ago, and it's awesome. While JA3 would be ideal, I certainly won't turn down more JA2 goodness.

As for UB, it was great, even if the main campaign was a bit short. You can pick it up from Overstock.com for 8 bucks, plus shipping and tax, if any. If you're a JA fan, you definitely want to own UB. It adds a couple new mercs, and I think some new weapons, but most importantly, has some rather excellent fan mods available for it.

Too bad Jagged Alliance 2 only sold well in two countries, Germany and Finland. Although the real sequel, JA3 was cancelled, this piece of news sure helps a lot.

To all Jagged Alliance fans:
Do not miss the new turn-based tactical game Silent Storm!

Silent Storm is nice. Only the S-F elements don't fit that well into
a WW2 story.

What I'd like

1. No more gay weapon damage that takes three headshots with FNFAL to kill
2. Some use for CQB skills
3. Useful bust fire with MGs and such at long range
4. No more gay tanks (unless I get to steal/drive them too). The instant rotate, perfect accuarcy turret is just too much.
5. No more super gay interrupts with high lv. characters. What does it mean when I pop behind a guy at 25 meters from outside a window only to get a interrupt and double head shot deathl?

Hopefully they will end the need for rifle phalanx formation I use for much of the game. (For one turn kills to return to real time mode before enemy can give an effective response)
