Police, School District Defend Drug Raid

Just to give you the skinny, the police come into this school with guns drawn to catch those dirtly liberal pot head smoking teenagers with their drugs. Problem is none were found. Parents get pissed of course, but school and police say they did nothing wrong because drugs are bad, mmkay.

Sounds like a serious overreaction to me. The guns drawn bit was certainly way over the top and the fact that they simply didn't employ drug dogs seems silly. But selling drugs illegally on school property is still against the law.

Is it just me, or is the War on Drugs getting a negative image in the Public's eye? Anyways, they did employ drug dogs, they got positives on 12 people, non of whom had drugs. Means these kids were pretty damn smart...

No you fool, the best way is to use defoliants and reconstituted Vietnam era Land Clearing Battalions, against the whole continent. Also we can remove many of the larger trees and replant them in Afghanistan so as to deny sunlight to the poppie fields.

I think its funny that people think echelon actually does what they claim. If it monitors all electronic communications world wide, why didn't they catch the bit about flying planes into the World Trade Center?

Pot heads, not necessarily (though you do get the occassional agitated one). But drug dealers, quite possibly. A lot of them carry on a regular basis after all, especially the more "professional" ones.

And the best part is, the police found nothing at all. So instead of coming off looking like jackboot fascist thugs, they came off as inept jackboot fascist thugs. There's a few hundreds kids who are going to hate cops for the rest of their lives now, for no gain at all (even by the WoD's skewed standards of gain and loss).

That's certainly true, but even you can see the need to keep drugs out of schools, it's no different from alcohol in that respect. It has no place and school, period.
