Star Trek Earth.
Pretty nice place for the average citizen, as long as you don't want your own transport or the latest alien probe of doom shows up. It would be neat to have your own holoroom, but that's just another thing you can't have. But you can replicate any kind of boring food you want to make up for it..
B5 Earth.
Okay place unless you're a teep, or Clark is running the show. Not too great for your average joe. You can go elsewhere, but the future isn't promising.
Middle Earth.
Nice place as long as you're not bothered by not having tv, running water, or a thousand Orcs breathing down your neck.
Coruscant.
Too crowded for my taste, but that large a planet should have something for everyone on it, as long as you have money. Probably not too fun in the Imperial era, but on the other hand, not even stromtroopers can be everywhere. Plus, it's easy to get a ride to anywhere else in a galaxy full of possibilities. This is my pick.

That completely sidesteps the question! The poll doesn't say "In which fictional universe would you like to live in", it says on what world you would like to live in and lists specific locales.Bill Door wrote:The good thing about living on Coruscant, is that its in the Star Wars galaxy. This means if you don't like the place you can always move to another world, if you can get the creds somehow. Having said that, interstellar travel isn't too expensive and so should not be too far beyond your means.Uraniun235 wrote:I'm not one for urban environments, so Coruscant is out for me.
Guess which one I voted for...

Bah, they probably have literally thousands of drugs that'll make you think marajuana as total garbage.
I'd rather live a simple life on Coruscant. Just settle down, get married, and have some kids.

I believe in a sign of Zeta.

I'd still like to try out living on Coruscant. Its just got the bonus that if you really don't like living there its conceiveable that you can leave for a different world. Thats not going to happen in the others, right?Uraniun235 wrote:That completely sidesteps the question! I picked Coruscant but it depends where abouts on Coruscant. If it's in the upper levels then it's fine, but the lower levels and "invi-sec" are hell holes!

that is not the question. The question is which WORLD would you live on. Answer me this - are several different worlds all part of Coruscant?Bill Door wrote:I'd still like to try out living on Coruscant. I guess the era would be important. Isn't Coruscant in ruin after the Vong invasion?nightmare wrote:

Anyway, my pick is ST Earth
Milites Astrum Exterminans
Coruscant is just one world, but the way I see it is that if coruscant isn't part of a wider universe then its not a good place to live.
But anyway, I would like to live in Coruscant because it seems to be the only world which isn't as likily to leave you stuck in Interesting Times.
ST earth is defended by people who would fail basic science, B5 earth is too much like interesting times, and middle earth? Thats definatly in interesting times but without the same level of sci-tech to make up for it.
Also, you seem alot more free in coruscant than any of the others
(apologies for any spelling mistakes, the above post was made under the influence of alcohol)

I suppose it's also like asking what kind of job you would like : for alot of people, alot of the answer depends on the future oppurtunities given. Not to mention that it never said you had to keep staying there.
As for me, I was the third one polled. My choices go as follows :
1) Coruscant - I want to be able to be filthy rich and I want a lightsabre. Also, I could live there a few years and have a whole galaxy to move to. The major, major downside is that I don't want to be there when the Vong come a'knocking.
2) Earth (Star Trek) - At the very least, I'd probably be assured that not only my needs are taken care of, and in reasonable comfort. However, I'd probably few more out of place than ever and completely useless. (This might change if I can manage to hit the engineers over the head with all the comments we make about how we can improve the designs.) In addition, I have a greater chance of being sent back to this time, but that's really iffy at best. If I wanted to move, and could, I'd probably have a fair selection of worlds.
3) Earth (B5) - Unforunately, I don't know too much about Babylon 5 and even less about the conditions on Earth here. However, I do believe that depending on the time, I'll be living in some kind of fascist dictatorship and then I'll probably be infected with a deadly diease (Nanobots) that has a good chance of killing me. I don't know the other worlds here to comment.
4) Middle Earth - No modern technology. Not to mention that while humans live there, they have thousands of years of isolation from us at the very least - which means that I'm even less likely to survive the very foreign dieases there. (I may also mention my slowly worsening eyesight and the chance I'll get diabetes in the future.) Also, no chance to get off. On the plus side, I could give them modern scitentific procedures and knowledge and become powerful.
