What game sequel would you like?

What game sequel would you like?
As the poll says;
Would you like a new RTS or Turn based strategy game based on the SW universe?
A new FPS or TPS based on the Jedi Knight series, perhaps with a story line in the NJO era?
A new Rouge Squadron type arcade flight game or perhaps a Rebel Strike type game based on a Wraith Squadron story line?
A new X-wing game, flight sim. Perhaps based on some actual EU story lines such as the Thrawn trilogy or Zinji campaign?
Or do you have your own sugestion on a new SW game that would be better?

They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

New X-Wing style game. Jedi Knight is a good series but it's been ages since a good SW flight sim!

Rebellion II - God no! Rebellion was the worst combination of turn based strategy and reat time stragety manageable. It was slow, uninvolving and just plain bad. It was rightly buried.
Now a turn based strategy game would be nice. Star Wars just begs for a good game like that and I personally would love to see one come out .
Jedi Knight V - I think it's fairly safe to say we'll be getting more of the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight line. I'll be watching for the next one.
Flight sim/ arcade style - I wouldn't mind seeing more of the X-wing and TIE Fighter series, particularly if it were to involve the Thrawn Campaigns and such rather than a retread of the movie era.
Real Time Tactical/Force Commander II - I would really like to see a cutting edge RTT game set in the Star Wars universe. It'd be a lot of fun to play with the big armor in a really good game environment. Aside from Force Commader the Star Wars RTT have felt like retreads of West End Games like Red Alert or the Dune games. They could definitely do better.

Half Life 2...
...but other than that, a decent RTS/RTT set in the SW universe would be great, like Stormbringer said. Recreating the batte of Geonosis in a decent engine with a high unit ceiling and good SFX would be a memorable experience.

JK5 would be awesome.
But there hasn't been a PC flight sim in ages...
So it's a toss-up. I can't decide.

I too want a new X-Wing game. And, I'm sorry, but I want the fucking Trench Run. I want the original Assault on the Death Star done right. I want that level to be multiplayer, too. I want fucking GOOD graphics too, not that half-assed shit they threw together for XWA.
I don't care if the level is a bonus stage or a flashback or whatever, I want it. I don't want the second death star, I don't want the Falcon, I want an X-Wing and the fucking trench run.

Bah, I liked Rebellion. It had quite a few flaws, but for an all reaching strategy game in the SW universe, what else was there.Stormbringer wrote:Rebellion II - God no! I would like a game that fixed the flaws in Rebellion. Bigger and better galaxy with +and - 's for travel in trade routes or not. System wide organization in every system instead of just what ever main planet happens to be there.
Multiple factions that you choose one of, say you can choose to be either;
Empire, Corporate Authority, Thrawn's outer rim expidition.
Or
Alderaan cell, Mon Calamari cell, Bothan cell, Coreillian Pirates, Hapans.
Diplomacy could bring other factions into the fold to increase resources and available equipment as well as characters.
Better tactical mode with more tactics and strategies for the ships....
Yes, they could make a better game and I WANT IT.
True, though it starting to get stale. Breathing some life into it in as much as a different time line would be nice, which is why I suggested NJO era.u]Jedi Knight V [/u] - I think it's fairly safe to say we'll be getting more of the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight line. I'll be watching for the next one.

I'd like a new X-Wing as well. I just don't want to be the true central character in the game. X-Wing Alliance was great with it's angle, until DS2.
I'm not Lando in the game, so I don't want to fly the Falcon. I'd rather want to be Ace Azzameen in an X-Wing keeping TIEs off the Falcon's back. Let the movie heroes be the main heroes.
The rest of the game was good with just being there while stuff happens. My favorite part was actually flying in formation with Luke Skywalker and Dash Rendar during one mission.

X-wing, definitely. Although a proper strategy game comes in at a close second.

I want to see an X-Wing/TIE Fighter-style game with a good 40-50 missions. Hell, make it branching (of course, then you might end up with something crazy like 100 possible missions). There's plenty of places in the EU to put it.
Hell, if they put it in the Vong Campaign, you would have the interesting experience of, say, being in a K-Wing while TIE Avengers kept skippers off your back so you could deliver the plasma bombs and go home. Or being in a Scimitar while A-Wings do much the same.
Or have it in the Thrawn Campaign, where you're fighting at Bilbringi and suddenly have to escort some smugglers in. And I want to see dozens of capital ships slugging it out - Home One going broadside-to-broadside with Chimaera.

More TIE Fighter. Maybe set it during the Thrawn trilogy of the EU and put in at least 30 mission of X-wing smashing goodness. Has to be made by Totally Games! though.
Strangely enough, I'd also like to see a Rebellion sequel. I know the first one sucked but given the right team, a Star Wars TBS game would be awesome. Give it to Fireaxis and see what they can do.

Either a semi-nonlinear flight sim game or a grand strategy game, like Europa Universalis set in the Star Wars universe.

X-Wing: New Republic Fighters
and
Tie-Fighter: Imperial Resistance
Both games would follow the EU and progress for several years. A series of campaigns would highlight specific books. X-Wing would likely follow the X-Wing book series as well as the Thrawn series and other important points in the EU.
Tie-Fighter would mix with both and from time to time both games would have points where they meet.
There would be something like 5-7 10 mission campaigns for each game until they reach the end of Hand of Thrawn. There would be important characters you meet and they will either show up or die in accordance to the EU.
A last game would be X-Wing: NJO with a series of campaigns for both IR and NR pilots.
So thats three Sim games, all to stick with the EU.

Would like a new Sim/Arcade.
Litrally Rogue 3 has used up virtually every aspect of the movie, and bordered on some odd EU within the trilogy timeline.
I wouldn't mind seeing some EU missions set durning the Thrawn Trilogy or DE time.

They did, but I hear that Larry Holland has been meeting again with the Big Wigs at Lucas Arts and is talking about producing another game for them. It doesn't mean we'll see a Tie Fighter sequel but it is a start. Heck, can you imagine Bridge Commander with a Star Wars theme?phongn wrote:IIRC, TG! had a falling out with Lucasarts, hence the lack of those type of games. The Kernel wrote:More TIE Fighter. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."
