Just in case.
I call the Valeth system.
NO ONE GETS VALETH. They'd obliterate the system before they ever let it be taken. All three worlds would be scorched cinders before they'd ever let anyone take it. If you want it, it'd be an big pile of ashes.
You also realize that my embassy people would have released the Life Eater virus on your home world (effectively destroying everything biological and the burning). You forget about my erstwhile embassy.
I'm just busy and I don't think I'll have the time to actually keep up with the STGOD at the moment. Certainly not in the middle of a multi-front war.SirNitram wrote:Storm is temporarily leaving the STGOD until his real life settles down.
Yeah, and my people would fight to the absolute death.SirNitram wrote:You can more or less move in and burn and stuff, but keep in mind there will be massive losses; the defenders will fight to the last man, and have technical parity with you all.

As I can only go online for a short time till tomorrow from my notebook, I'll can't AIM anyone
So I just tell what (would) have happened, and someone, Aly?, might hammer out a convincing battle report
I'd translate in the system, disgourge my massive numbers of fighters, and attack with the big ships. Gate ship would prepare to open connection to home if any re-inforcements would've been needed.
After suffering heavy losses, most of the fighters, many ships and severly damaged many, we'd take control of the system.
As my state is not expansionist, and only did it to contain religious fervour, my fleet would take high orbit around the industrialized planets and commence an complete orbital bombardment to ensure that no one will be threatened by their religion again.

More like bash their heretic heads into a brick wall. But assuming the invasion goes off they'd pretty much fight to the death ala Masada.Pablo Sanchez wrote:Perhaps it works that way for fishmeat creatures, but not for humans I think any effort to teach Azegarters about evolution will sort of come up short and hard against the "who gives a fuck" wall.Alyrium Denryle wrote:Oh, our scientists can talk about evolution wth the same zeal, and fervor as any religious person... I kicked out your embassy people before the war officially started.
Right after my fleet launched (It goes along with "Sending out all Azegert ships")

And everyone who has come into contact with any Azegert have been quarrentined. If there is any damage, it will be minimal and easy to deal with.

I couldn't communicate this as I'd liked to (working away from home does that to you <g>), so it's up to whoever writes the "battle summary"...

It's SOP to intern or expel embassy staff before they even know they're at war. It can be assumed that they never had the opportunity to get the shot off.Stormbringer wrote:You also realize that my embassy people would have released the Life Eater virus on your home world (effectively destroying everything biological and the burning). Actually, they would be able to any way. All it takes is it being released in a signficant quantity into the air. That is easily enough accomplished as they tried to inter Embassy personel. In fact, that was the sole reason it was opened. They would be able to do it.Pablo Sanchez wrote:It's SOP to intern or expel embassy staff before they even know they're at war. As for containing it, no such thing. As Necronlord if you don't believe me on what Life Eater is.

So you gave yourself a man-portable planet-killing bioweapon?Stormbringer wrote:Actually, they would be able to any way. All it takes is it being released in a signficant quantity into the air. As a last resort, it's not exactly planet killing, just wiping out life on said planet. But I'll leave it up to the other mods what to do about it.Pablo Sanchez wrote:So you gave yourself a man-portable planet-killing bioweapon?Stormbringer wrote:Actually, they would be able to any way. But you never clarified that you had it for those of us who don't follow WH40K. If i had known i'd have told thirdfain to fuck off when he Pm'ed me.

Well, people need to ask about unfamiliar tech, I did about the ASVS tech and that worked nicely. It's not like there haven't been umpteen millions threads in which the various means of Exterminatus were discussed.Darksider wrote:But you never clarified that you had it for those of us who don't follow WH40K. About the Life Eater: It's hardly a man portable weapon. It requires a fairly massive amount to start the chain reaction but with an embassy to do it, it could be done.
Either way, I'll leave the whole thing to SirNitram since he's the head mod till I rejoin.

Not to mention a one shot man portable planet killer that everyone is just expected to know that you have, without you telling them.

Alright, alright.
1) Don't expect any real productive gains from taking Azgert space. The timescales needed to reap rewards are going to be nearly as much as colonizing new space, somewhat higher.
2) Yes, I want some kind of post indicating how the battles went. I cannot fathom playing an STGOD without such. The exact style is, of course, up to you all, but remember it will be like Olympic all over again. You will be losing shitloads of material.
3) Stormbringer's virus can be guaranteed to cause loses, but not total, planetary-level devastation, simply because medical technology is good enough to slow it down. This is for all the powers who are invading. Sorry, Storm, but I can't let you simply kill off everyone on the homeworlds in one sentence.

Ok. How about, twelve million dead in the capital city, and the surrounding areas, but the government officials and military advisors (Admirals, senators, the emperor) are safe because they are in an underground bunker?

A) Life Eater is not a planet killer and it still has to be delivered (hence the embassy!), it's a weapon that destroys the biosphere of a planet.Darksider wrote:Not to mention a one shot man portable planet killer that everyone is just expected to know that you have, without you telling them.
B) Ask about the tech base people! I assume Raxmei has it too since he's used 40K tech, possible a few others that have borrowed bits of it. If you have no idea of the tech base ask before your ignorance bites you on the ass.
